People who speak languages other than English, does your language experience the phenomenon of popular names having multiple spellings? I've seen 10+ spellings of names like Colleen and Katy and I'm curious if this happens in other languages.

Effort and intensity are skills. There are a lot of hardworking people who don't realize that they can push themselves much harder because they just didn't realize there is another level beyond what they're doing. Easy to understand example below: this bodybuilder was working out with...

Awesome. I assume that you still live in Florida, so FYI we have these sunshine laws, which means that the state makes entirely too much info available about people and businesses. Individual counties will give you data dumps of most of the property parcels (cops are removed for their...

Quit or stay employed while searching for a sales job? (No prior sales experience)

    MARKETING
@Tradeperson if you are set on getting the sales job, figure out how you can get an existing employee to recommend you to the company. That will increase your odds of getting an interview dramatically.

Weekly Progress: What will you get done this week?

    GOLD! HOT! CHAT
The answer to this problem is to work with companies with established sales processes or take a fat commission closing their deals. "I don't want to chase leads, I want to do billable work" => "I don't want to run a business, I want to be an employee" Customer acquisition is the real business...

Quit or stay employed while searching for a sales job? (No prior sales experience)

    MARKETING
Ah, if you have a year's worth of savings, then you can do whatever you want. I typically try to avoid telling people what to do, since they usually do what they want to regardless. The exception is I try to help people avoid making bad decisions. I quit a job in like 6 or so years ago because...

Yeah my point was really "it's more achievable than you think" rather than "you're wrong" Agreed. Just believing that something is possible can radically change how far you decide to push yourself.

Going to nit pick you so that no one gets discouraged - a dude in his 20s could probably get a 5 plate deadlift in 5 years if he was dedicated to it. And I don't know how big this dude was, but a lot of people would be shocked at how big they could get with 5 years of diligent training 3-5 days...

It sounds like you're asking for justification to quit your job rather than asking for what the best course of action is. Unless you're working 80+ hours per week, you should still have 20+ hours each week to search for jobs and apply to them. Keep your job until you have reliable new income...

You can stimulate a lot of muscle growth from time under tension or high rep exercises which are light weight. The other thing is that even if you hit the gym 5 times per week 1 hour per session, you're probably only actually exercising for 8-15 minutes per session. Most of the time there is...

You should check out some videos on Clay - the go to market engineering tool. Most of the videos are outbound marketing focused, but if you like integrating spreadsheets with LLMs, then you'll probably get some good ideas. Edit: This dude's (Jordan Crawford) content is good. He acts...

    MINDSET FAILURE HEALTH
You're not the first person who this has happened to. Other people have found themselves in your shoes, including people on this forum. People come back from stuff like this, and so will you. A good friend of mine spent years trying to make business work, investing a lot of time into...

if you're using LLM APIs in any of your production workflows, you should periodically test the results I use LLMs daily for coding, and Claude 3.7 Sonnet has been noticeably worse over the last few weeks. Example - I asked it to write a simple function and it gave me a 20 line output. The...

This is from Johnny Boy's lifestyle thread - which I reposted here because I didn't want to derail the original thread. This is the mindset that you need to have when you give other people advice, and this is the mindset of the only people whose advice is worth listening to. You need to be...
