Ranking #1 in the SERPs? Run Ads Too!

    MARKETING
Domination indeed. For the cloning of the site, that is a resounding YES. All you need to do on the Google side is get a different mailing address, different contact number, different domain (of course), and go through all of the other hassle of getting everything else setup. Google will look...

Ranking #1 in the SERPs? Run Ads Too!

    MARKETING
If you're ranking #1 for 'large purple widgets', you're doing good, but the war has just begun. This is the perfect opportunity to run ads for the exact same keyword and truly DOMINATE the SERPs. By running ads right alongside your organic listing, you will effectively take up more of the prime...

    I Own A Supermarket - I need help...

@Kung Fu Steve killed it. Since your immediately accessible market is finite and seemingly stagnant in regards to population growth, your best bet seems to be increasing profit. Do you have upsells (gum, cigarettes, candy, soda, etc) at the checkout? Would your market be receptive and open to a...

    eCommerce Optimisation Questions

It's a question of time. Do you want to spend countless hours building, troubleshooting, fixing, perfecting your own handbuilt mousetrap, or simply rent one for $30/mo with all of the bells and whistles you will probably ever need?

Dressing For Success... Stop looking like a fool.

    HOT! PEOPLE
I spent an absurd amount of time on Reddit's MFA sub last year to pull my fashion sense out of the trailer park and into the upper class. Picked up 5 pairs of AE's, some Salvatore Ferragamo's, some blazers from Gieves & Hawke, and a RL Purple Label suit, all on ebay, all like new for dirt cheap...

What book are you reading? Right now. Post up!

    NOTABLE! HOT! BOOKS CHAT
Currently going through Storynomics, Rules for Radicals (slow read to absorb all of the nutrients), and have been listening to Robert Greene's Art of Seduction on Audible. All highly recommended. Also flipping through Get Clients Now! to get sales/marketing ideas when necessary.

Stop what you're doing. Get a line of credit.

    HOT!
LOC's are great to have just sitting around, both personal and business. I have a few now, but ideally want around $500k in accessible credit lines. I will have to do a little more shopping around. @AgainstAllOdds Thanks for the PNC suggestion, submitting an application now. Edit: Application...

Supreme Court: Online shoppers can be forced to pay sales tax

    TAXES | REGS FEATURED!
Yup. Then a quiet acquisition by a major platform (like Shopify) to add to their growing list of baked in goodies. Bad news for consumers, huge time sucks for online retailers. Just a giant cash grab that is just going to be messy from beginning to end.

    The Ungodly Marketing Resources Thread

    MARKETING
Just ran through Facebook's new policy updates, and it looks like there is now an option to opt out of pixel based audiences. Again, no Facebook expert, but this could have a dramatic effect if large swathes of people opted out as remarketing audiences would no longer reach their intended audience.

    You’re not selling wholesale?

    NOTABLE!
Way to go @Scot - moving product like it's going out of style! Don't forget, people looking to buy in bulk often start their searching journey on Google or Bing. Targeted landing pages focused on wholesale or bulk <insert your product(s) here> with simple contact forms and contact info can be...

Living Unscripted - Handling millions harder than making them?

    HOT! INVESTING
Not the worst of problems to have, but I think expanding on the potential ways you can strategically park your cash could be very high value to someone in your position. Pure reliance on a financial manager to try to eek out a few % points just screams risk to me. Why not look into acquiring...

    The Ungodly Marketing Resources Thread

    MARKETING
Disclaimer: I'm no FB Ads expert. But yes, that is what I would do. First test out different targeting and audiences via your ad sets. Once you start getting traction at your target cost, then an additional breakdown for specific demo groups, ages in this case. Something like this: Campaign #1...

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately I have been in a partnership in a different business where things took a very similar path as yours. I took a large financial hit and acquired substantial debt from that misstep, hopfully you made it out in better shape than I did!
