    Hurricane Irma

    OFF-TOPIC
I'm glad that it looks like most of our forum friends have made it out okay. God willing, cleanup efforts and rebuilding will not come with too much trouble. Looking for restaurant recommendations?

The best book I ever read was..

    BOOKS
Possibly because it isn't a fair question (no disrespect to the OP of course). It's like asking who your favorite the athlete is. If you only follow football and basketball then it's easy to answer. But what if you follow MMA, baseball, soccer, cricket, ultimate frisbee, crossfit, and platypus...

Building a Second Income Before the Second Kid

    EXECUTION
Wanted to chime in here. I like this plan because you're essentially offering them a guest post spot, without the work. Just a thought, you might have a bit of trouble at first because for the bigger names, they get 'enough' traffic and may be hesistant to connect their work to a new site...

Which mindset is better? Machiavellian vs altruistic?

    MINDSET
Taking action and building a business will make you successful. Stop this pointless bullshit.

The worst book I ever read was..

    HOT!
Aww, that's the second time Holiday's been mentioned in this thread. :( I'm a huge fan of his. That said, both complaints about him come from pretty valid places.

    Is Uber a fastlane business?

It's just procrastination via theory discussion.

What laptop should a starting online entrepreneur buy?

    HOT!
^ A solid MacBook is a good move for business. It'll last a while, doesn't give you fuss, and starts up immediately.

The worst book I ever read was..

    HOT!
Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Aside from being a pop psychology book that extrapolates research and case studies (things are rarely so black and white), I felt like it had a terrible theme. All of these hugely successful people happened because they were outliers and there were events out of...

    Fastlane or Unscripted? Which first?

    HOT!
If you're going to read both? Start with TMF. It's easier and gives a good overall grasp. If you could only read one? Unscripted. It's honestly a better book (although TMF is still fantastic), simply because there is so much. It may be the only business book anyone would ever need to read. It...

    Product Nearing Completion

    EXECUTION
A couple things. A) My Grammarly is lighting up your post like a fireworks display. While proper grammar is not the most important thing when it comes to copywriting, your plulgin could look unprofessional if it has consistent errors. B) It seems like you're asking questions but you're not...

    Food business/entrepreneurship startup guide

    NOTABLE!
Err, I may have also made a typo. I meant to say category. Something broader than trend (guess it could also be defined as Need) "People want to eat something that's healthy and natural. We sell dried Platypus Meat, and market/design it be an all natural alternative to typical jerky snacks. It...

    Food business/entrepreneurship startup guide

    NOTABLE!
Do you think it would be best to keep a pulse on what the 'general' food trend is (IE: Healthy, limited ingredients, etc) and then try to set up your product to be the answer to that? EDIT: General food category, rather than trend.

    Liquor Store Start Up?

    HOT!
In addition, perhaps you could pick up a part-time job working at a local one? Would give you more hands-on experience with the industry. Maybe give you a glimpse at margins and chance at profit. But like Scot said, the sales at a bar are different. Tourists may go to a bar and blow a shit-ton...

Namecheap and Bluehost. If you encounter problems down the road, switch. Trying to decide the 'perfect' hosting is just a form of procrastination if you're launching a small website or testing the waters.

One Year of the FLF: My Failure

Thank you, everyone, that commented on this. You all gave me a breath of fresh air and helped me look at the future with a bit more optimism. An update, I believe? I'll be starting the retail job within the next week or so. Because of a delayed background check, my hiring was pushed back...

One Year of the FLF: My Failure

At the moment, I don't. I had put all of my eggs in the freelancing basket, so to speak. And, I had focused almost entirely on Upwork. I believe I wanted to prove to myself that I could make a decent income solely off of the site. It was foolish and driven by my ego. I have, however, been...

One Year of the FLF: My Failure

A few months back, my year anniversary for the FLF came up. I decided that it would be a good idea to create a sort of “Yearly Update”. Honestly, though, I kept pushing it off. I was scared as hell. More than that, I was even ashamed. When others post their yearly updates and they’re just doing...
