Did anyone else screw up in business so bad that they are stuck in the slowlane?

    SLOWLANE
Yep :) I continue to owe tons of money from my failed crate rental business (no to me tion lingering health and marriage issues). I have been fortunate to have a decent-paying day job and have excelled there, but I feel the pain of that failure regularly. The key, however, is to get back up...

Think Big, and Then Think Bigger Than That.

    GOLD!
A related Steve Jobs quote: "It doesn't make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do."

What to do when having an accident while switching to the Fastlane

    MINDSET
Is that kind of contract really enforceable? What if you were a stand-up comic or played in an orchestra at night - what could they do about that? I see you're in Malta so maybe the laws are different than the US, but other than termination of employment or suing you after launching a direct...

What to do when having an accident while switching to the Fastlane

    MINDSET
I'd rather have the extra money. An extra $200k/yr goes a long way toward leveraging other people's time, plus giving you room to test various ideas (e.g. experimenting with ad campaigns, hiring VAs, importing products, etc.) , as opposed to eeking out a living and doing everything by yourself...

    Is Anyone Else Intermittent Fasting?

    NOTABLE!
FWIW @Milkanic I'm always exhausted after flying. I think it's a combination of mental taxation plus the somewhat awkward leg placement/muscle usage on the rudder pedals. BTW Good luck on that checkride!

Web 3.0 (Ethereum) is happening, and most people have no idea what it even is.

    GOLD! IDEA
Speaking of selling shovels during the gold rush - this sort of failure is exactly what members of Congress get really excited about regulating. Contrary to popular believe, there is something crypto supports can do about it before it's too forgone. The process as it stands today goes: -...

Trouble understanding quote from book "the one thing"

It could also refer to the one action that will unlock or cascade most or all other actions for the day. For example, if I write a to-do list every morning, I tend to get most or all of my goals accomplished for the day (including eating right, exercising, etc...because I'll write down that I...

[ADVICE]-Selling to Government (Cities, Counties, States) ???

I have experience in this area, but would need a lot more information to make a specific recommendation. However, a good piece of general advice is to ask someone in local government or the local chamber of commerce (including a local elected official-they can be suprisingly responsive) "I have...

Billionaires Explaining To You Why A College Degree Is Useless

    OFF-TOPIC
I'm waiting for the first billionaire business owner to declare that they are no longer considering formal education in their hiring processes, and instead are moving toward an algorithm-based evaluation method to find new hires. Frankly I'm shocked, given all the predictive computing power and...

    The Cryptocurrency Investing Discussion

    CRYPTO INVESTING
@JScott Thanks for this thread! One thought that keeps swirling around my head is who is lobbying the federal government on behalf of cryptocurrency/blockchain stakeholders? It would seem to me that a crypto-PAC might be an effective way to get crypto concerns heard and potentially forestall...
