    More Musings about Life

    HOT! MINDSET
Amen! My wife and I met as EMS partners. You'd think our most stressful, trying times were during bad calls, but nope-it was moving that tried my patience the most. If you actually bonded over a move I'd say marry the girl!

Biggest Pain Point in Starting a Business

Lack of validation/paying customers, coupled with the knowledge that there are 1,000 ways your business could fail. You have to have incredible willpower and an unfaltering belief in yourself and your product to get from idea to recurring revenue. Depending on the nature of your product/service...

"Your margin is my opportunity." (Jeff Bezos) If your margin becomes too large, it becomes someone else's opportunity to undercut your traffic stream. Great post.

Amazon: How to Remain Exclusive on a Product

I believe @Vick added additional knock-off protection for his glasses by ensuring his logo was a part of the mold itself. You might consider going that route.

    Make 10k While At Lunch

Awesome work man - especially impressed that despite the kickstarter not performing as well as you would have liked, you kept pushing ahead where a lot of others would have stopped thinking "the market didn't validate my product." You recognized that your target market didn't use kickstarter.

Mike, Awesome progress! My experience with MCV/RAA in Richmond is it depends on who you have as a champion. Obviously, these things take time (legal review, clinical review, perhaps a board vote, etc.), but if you have a strong champion on the inside then it won't take too long (meaning...

Why are Doctors such a$$ holes?

    HOT!
I gave myself what I suspect was an aspartame overdose after consuming an entire mio package in about an hour, after a day of drinking diet drinks. Had classic pre-seizure symptoms (disorientation, sudden copper taste in mouth, inability to speak in completes sentence, and impending feeling of...

    Thoughts on Being An Entreployee

Also studies have shown that if you do what @LightHouse suggests, and then forumlate some sort of action plan for your subordinates to execute, they will be much more likely to change their ways (in other words they can see why you are making the changes and how it will impact the bottom line...

Is my product not sexy enough? I know there is a NEED but nobody seems to WANT it...

While I agree, the OP has to be careful in determining whether people actually want his product. If he's exhusted all angles and ways of describing the benefits to his entire market, that's one thing. But a simple change in message could completely flip his success rate. Just a few weeks ago I...

(Tl;dr: - You have to not care about the event of being wealthy in order to be wealthy; instead, you have to care about building, trusting in, and executing a process) I've found this to be perhaps the most important concept I've learned from the forum. We all want to make money. Period...
