Nobody Responds to your Cold E-mails? You might be Selfish.

    MINDSET
This thread needs to be read w/the Altschuler thread - together they offer a complete view of how to work: 1. target your audience correctly 2. give value for free, 3. earn trust

    Never Be Broke AGAIN!

    PEOPLE
Great thread. Thanks for the book tips. this is exactly what I am trying to achieve. Tell a story correctly and you don't have any competition. I read a Dan Kennedy book where he references the JPeterman catalog ummm "Owners Manual" as being a fantastic example of this principle.

    Too Old?

I'm 53 (with a full time job, 8 kids, and lots of other commitments). The way to do this is to pace yourself. I do an hour or so a day on average. My current project has taken me well over a year to get it to the point of "ready". Be modest in your daily goals but focused and persistent...

That would be the proper way to do this. I'm not really interested in establishing myself as much as I am in accessing their lists.. Thank you.

Let's talk about Twitter & marketing

    MARKETING
I have one blogger who is followed by some people who are more important than she is in terms of reach...they have more active blogs with more signups... If she were to send them a private tweet - would that stand out? (Shows how clueless I am even to ask this...) Meaning...is that something...

Let's talk about Twitter & marketing

    MARKETING
Great! Thank you very much. Basically, I am looking to connect with bloggers in my niche (for luxury European roasted coffee) and some of these bloggers are offering to tweet on my behalf...and I am wondering what value there is and if it's something to put effort into.

    Thinking about outsourcing my SEO

    MARKETING
Having been this route a bit myself - and not knowing anything about your background - here's what I suggest. 1. forget about the "tough" keywords to begin with. 2. look at lower volume long tail kw's that are real buying terms. you are MUCH better off building up your site's presence with a...

Let's talk about Twitter & marketing

    MARKETING
I'm skeptical about the real measurable marketing value of most social media. Twitter seems to me different, but that's a "gut" feeling - no empirical data. How do you use it? How do you find value? For example, what's the value of someone in your niche tweeting about you/your products to...

My idea muscle is not as well developed as yours (despite two hours of Talmud every morning), but I can sure come up with a few article ideas I'd love to read from each of them. So, I'll put that in the package along with the sun dried Red Iapar from Camocin, Brazil & a crisp dollar bill. The...

James, I'm joining the chorus of thanks to you for participating here. I had a really powerful take away of your "give, give, give" approach from a talk you gave. Here's my situation - I'd like to hear how you'd apply that: I'm launching a new super high end european coffee bean subscription...

    IDEA
In fact, there are a couple ways of understanding this. To me, it sounds like they are being honest. What I hear is "well, you love your design, but we haven't seen it yet and we've dealt with a lot of people who think they know what they are doing and while their designs are nice, they don't...

    Coffee Lid Sells $1 Million

    OFF-TOPIC
That's entirely the point here...they sold over 140,000 of these so far!!! lots of niches out there where you can sell 140,000 of something, I guess... Things we never think of.... They are everywhere..... go and find them... The advantage they had here - design costs were minimal so they...

Cartoon Video With Voice Over - How Much?

    WEB/DIGITAL
I would run over to oDesk and post a job and put that link in - and tell them you want a quote for producing the video w/voiceover (you'll need to specify you want an American English native speaker). for a good price, you need to write the storyboard. I was looking at whiteboard animations...
