    Homeschooling Chat Thread

    HOT! CHAT
My wife and I plan on homeschooling our children. @Simon Angel 's message is timely, because I was going to address his point. Something I've heard when referring to homeschooled children is that they are "socially awkward". I'll grant that some homeschooled kids I knew throughout high...

How are you guys beating the social media addiction?

    HOT! MINDSET
Sure 1. Go to settings > Screen Time 2. Under "Restrictions" you can set a Screen Time Passcode and you can manage the content/privacy restrictions. This is where you would talk to a close friend about trying to stay off SM, so you want them to make a passcode for you. 3. In Content &...

If you have an iPhone, you can set a screentime passcode. Have a friend set it for you so you don't know it, and also have them turn on the setting that denies access to the app store so you can't install apps without the screentime passcode. This way, if you uninstall an app, you won't be...

Choose Hard, Live Easy: The Art of War for Decision-Making (Release thread)

    HOT! BOOKS
I have yet to pre-order the book, but I am looking forward to reading it. Side note: I came across a quote that reminded me a lot of this book. “The choice is yours: to let yourselves slide downhill into the valley of a dull conformism, or to face the effort of climbing to the peak, where you...

Random Chat, Thoughts, Posts, and/or Rants Thread

    HOT! CHAT
I saw a version of this earlier this week, but it ended at the shark chewing on the undersea cable lol. Is all of our modern infrastructure really just buttressed by A) money and B) mitigating geopolitical strife?

Helping Engineers pass their professional exams (but this time I'm actually making sales)

    SAAS / APPS EXECUTION FEEDBACK
Yes, and it was after I made a thread in the r/FE_Exam subreddit about my app. The guy who was my first customer asked some questions about it and then told me he was signing up.

    SAAS / APPS EXECUTION FEEDBACK
I know that I gained one customer from Reddit, but the other one I think I gained from LinkedIn.

I agree. I think the problem after that is simply the effort of transcribing those practice questions.

    SAAS / APPS EXECUTION FEEDBACK
I actually have the PDF of their practice exam, and I've done what you're describing with some of their questions. It's relatively easy to do this with many of the engineering-based questions. I suppose I'm saying that it would be much easier to simply copy and paste existing questions without...

Helping Engineers pass their professional exams (but this time I'm actually making sales)

    SAAS / APPS EXECUTION FEEDBACK
A source like that would be amazing. I'm not entirely sure how I could get my hands on past FE exam questions. I've contacted NCEES (the organization that creates and distributes the FE Exam) about utilizing some of their material in my app, and they explicitly told me no and that they don't...

Helping Engineers pass their professional exams (but this time I'm actually making sales)

    SAAS / APPS EXECUTION FEEDBACK
At first I was charging $50/month, but I lowered it with the intention of raising it back up once I include more practice problems. The ROI of passing the exam is high, but I think the amount that I have at this point is still somewhat low value. Definitely call me out if I'm wrong, but I know...

Helping Engineers pass their professional exams (but this time I'm actually making sales)

    SAAS / APPS EXECUTION FEEDBACK
This is a continuation to this thread here. This thread has been a long time coming, but I just haven't had the heart to start it until I made my first few sales. To sum up the story of what happened in the previous thread: I was writing study material specifically for Civil Engineers who are...
