If you guys are into sports that you can keep up with throughout your whole active life (into your 60s and beyond), look into windsurfing. I regularly run into guys in their 50s, 60s, and even 70s that still get out on windy days and enjoy it. Add in the capability of hydrofoils and you can get...

Fed Up With Your Country? Where Is Left to Go?

No joke, I'm very fortunate to have ended up here after living in Europe in 2019. If I had stayed elsewhere I would have lost it or moved somewhere?

Fed Up With Your Country? Where Is Left to Go?

    HOT!
This thread is difficult. Lots are going on, lots of people in different situations. Australia looks particularly bad. I'm starting to say "so what?" to a lot of the problems. I'm trying to get back on track so that I'm not dependent on some company that is going to listen to hostile people in...

Fed Up With Your Country? Where Is Left to Go?

    HOT!
The lack of long-term testing for this new treatment riles me up. I know a close family member that took Fosamax at their doctor's recommendation, as she was getting old and supposedly susceptible to osteoporosis. Guess what? They told her to get off that drug. She has since suffered extreme...

Name a single person that has had this new medical treatment in their system for 5 years. We have ZERO data on long term effects for this, and are throwing caution to the wind and taking it on medical faith. Maybe it'll work out...

They overstate infections with pcr tests and deaths with confounding factors, and VAERS vaccine deaths are underreported.

Do we really have CONTROL in our own website (rather than working at someone else's)?

You don't have to use GoDaddy for hosting a website, nor even for domain name registration. You can pick another vendor, and I would suggest that anyway. It's possible to even setup redundant web servers with different hosts, but that's something you'll have to talk to an expert about. But yes...

Power generation by using unusable heat

    HOT!
Then why hasn't it been made already? My name is on several approved patents, most of which are for devices that will never see the light of day. This is because we come up with ideas and the company patents them before we even try to develop it into a real device. That doesn't mean that it is...

Power generation by using unusable heat

This reminds me of windsurfing/hydrofoiling. There's the wind you feel standing still and there's wind that you feel that is a combination of the wind and your own motion, the "apparent wind". I regularly go ~2x faster than the absolute wind, but not dead downwind like this car. It's fastest...

Fed Up With Your Country? Where Is Left to Go?

My work is the same, but luckily I'm a few 1000 miles away and never moving back. I got lucky leaving when I did and then coming back pure remote. Hearing the way they talk on calls there, whenever this comes up, makes me insane.

How well do you Mexican travelers speak Spanish? Thinking about adding either that or Portuguese to what I know just in case.

    OMDA's Progress Reboot

    EXECUTION
Got one video out. Meant to help a handful of people in my hobby and also test out the Descript app, which automatically transcribes audio/video and makes it incredibly easy to cut out "um" and other filler words, and even cut and paste or remove bad sections. Found out about it from Andy's...

Thank you for the tip on Descript during that 1st episode. Talk about good copy and sales on their page. I ended up trying it and it's made it extremely easy to edit a video I recorded, without having to re-record it.

Itching to quit my job now but should I wait for bonus?

    INTRO
I waited a few months to get a bonus before quitting and bailing to europe for half a year. Have you started to build something on your own yet? Have prospective clients? Are you afraid about IP issues with your employer? Also, are you fully vested with that bonus?
