    Finally

    INTRO
Hey man, welcome to the forum. Seems like you've got a good and honest view of yourself. Best of luck.

Against my better judgement, I gave you a like for that ;)

    Investing in Rental Property advice?

    REAL ESTATE
First off, kudos for planning ahead and being disciplined enough to save money. That's a good start. I have some reservations about a house that can be bought for so little, but I'll assume for now that the house is rentable. Do you know what other comparable houses or apartments are currently...

How I 'retired' at age 22.

    EXECUTION
Really cool thoughts, @GrumpyCat. I don't think I could bring myself to walk the same path, mostly because of my wife and kids, but I REALLY respect your freedom. Keep hustlin', my brother.

What do you guys think of Jordan Belfort?

    OFF-TOPIC
Never heard of her before, but a resounding 'yes'.

What do you guys think of Jordan Belfort?

    OFF-TOPIC
Seems uber-weasely, and whether or not you could learn only the effective stuff and not get any weasel on you is a moot point to me. I think I'd just rather keep my distance. Plenty of good ones to learn from.

Do You Have a Sickening Work Ethic?

    EXECUTION
I think the key is in the video @theag posted. You have to be willing to bust your a$$, but there is a prerequisite, and Elon Musk says it there if you're listening. You have to have an idea that "provides high value to someone else" (that comes up a lot, doesn't it?) and isn't just wishful...

has this forum helped you out, or just mental masterbation?

    HOT!
This. As with anything else, it's a tool, and it's what YOU take and do with it that will determine how much it helps you. Also, this. I'm assuming the OP just signed up and tossed this question out without even looking at any gold posts or progress threads. Because if he had, he'd see the...

What type of martial arts should I practice?

    OFF-TOPIC
This. Anything with good sparring practice that you work on consistently will teach you timing, distance, and help you to anticipate attacks more quickly. If you just want to be able to defend against an average joe on the street, most styles can get you there. If you're looking to be able to...

    College Has Me Down

    MINDSET RANT
I heard someone say that making the wrong decision often has fewer negative consequences than doing nothing at all. So, I wouldn't sweat too much over which path is the "right" one for you at this time. But whichever you go with, you gotta really go with it. Don't waffle back and forth and...

    College Has Me Down

    MINDSET RANT
Camo, are you working toward this degree with a particular goal? I.e., is getting this degree going to help accomplish a bigger goal (get a solid job to start banking money toward a fastlane venture), or are you just going to college because you're not sure what else to do or are fearful of...

    Black Friday...

    HOT!
I thought about this thread today. I was running over December's budget and realized we wouldn't be able to save as much this month due to getting presents for all of our family. Then all of a sudden this discussion came back into my head and I thought "I can't wait to get on the other side of...

    My View on Videogames

    OFF-TOPIC
This makes me think of an "aha!" moment that I had while playing World of Warcraft one day. Someone had published a WoW gold-making guide for free at a gaming blog. I started working it and was making quite a bit of gold. It was a bit euphoric for a little while, seeing all of the money arriving...

    GOLD! MINDSET
That rules, ΕΝΔΕΚΑ. Very inspiring, and I'm really happy things are going well. I need constant reminders like this to get me off my a$$ and doing something. After reading your post, I went ahead and sent emails to a couple of people regarding a product idea I have, and I ordered a supply my...

    Does It Hurt Bad Enough?

    GOLD! MINDSET
Great post, Allen. Really happy for you and your family, and kudos for doing what very few will. For me, the pain is a job that's good (good pay, good benefits, good people). Almost too good. It's like a gilded cage. It's very comfortable, and very little is required of me on a daily basis. If...

    Slowlane Meetup

    SLOWLANE
Not proposing a meetup of slow laners, but I attended one tonight. My wife and I were hanging out with our church small group, and we talk a lot about what's going on in each others' lives. Almost everyone in the group is dealing with shit at their jobs. - One lady has been given a notice...

    What to do next...

    EXECUTION
Well, you obviously have a bias for action, and you've come here searching for knowledge and help. I think those traits will serve you well if you keep at it. It sounds like you just need the knowledge and guidance of someone more experienced. I wish I could offer that to you, but I'm sure if...

Looking to buy first multi-family home

    REAL ESTATE
I'll tell you what I did, just so you know it may be an option for the future. I don't think it will be applicable right now since, if I'm understanding correctly, you don't own your current home. To get my first property, which has 3 units, I got a home equity loan on my primary residence to...

    Greetings from Tennessee

    INTRO
I had envisioned something quite like that. And it could address some pain points that I see with currently available apps. Honestly, I thought about it, had some grand ideas about what it could be, and then shelved it in hopes of finding another idea because, quite frankly, it would be a lot of...
