    Crowd Funding for a service

We are looking to raise funds for our app/web service called GrabGenie. Its a peer to peer service, where users can tag items they need and GrabGenies in that location will pick them up and deliver them. We have been looking at using crowd funding to raise money, but because its not a product we...

Id like to know what the cost is to get the equipment and paint to do something like headphones or an iphone, at...

The One Stupid Thing YOU Need To STOP Doing Today

    MINDSET
Was thinking about this earlier and thought it went along with the stop talking, take action. How many times do you see a person create a start-up and start calling themselves the CEO. I dont know why this is a pet peeve of mine, but I always see it on Linkedin and Facebook. These people...

Our Kickstarter Failed and It’s OK

The pros use all kinds of training aids, especially with putting. The more experienced golfer understands that if they truly want to get better, then they need to shave strokes on and around the green. The point of the aid is to groove a consistent stroke, so I guess you would want to become...

Food Stamp Covers - Looking for best marketing channels

    MARKETING
My sister used to work for WIC and now works as a dietitian, so she sees what a lot of these people on food stamps eat. She said many of them eat better than most people, because the food stamp program called SNAP has almost no regulation on what you can buy, minus alcohol and hot food. People...

Im sure this happens alot, but I live in the Northwest and a few years back a couple in Seattle got in trouble because they lived in a 1.5 million dollar home and had been on food stamps for years. Thats true you dont, but many people that are on them also have iPhones and designer clothes...

Food Stamp Covers - Looking for best marketing channels

    MARKETING
Ill be honest, when he first approached me with the idea I thought it was stupid, but then I started watching people while they checked out. I would go to Safeway late at night and 90% of the shoppers were around college age or a little older, and almost all of them were using food stamps. They...

Food Stamp Covers - Looking for best marketing channels

    MARKETING
Absolutely. I think the biggest thing is understanding what the market wants. Back in school we used to have to analyze peoples buying preferences and what they truly cared about. It would go like, Bob makes $1200 a month and he is unwilling to pay for a smart phone, doesnt buy designer clothes...

Thats true. I dont want to say this for everyone, but there is a reason many people end up on food stamps...they buy stuff they dont need, and cant afford.

I agree about going where the money is, and this product is being used as our funding for something much more lucrative in the senior home care business, with a lot of potential to scale. Its our Obama O's and Cap'n McCain's http://goo.gl/Z7FhpU

Food Stamp Covers - Looking for best marketing channels

    MARKETING
Thats a good point. I guess I was looking at the organic sales, and figured that if only a small number (and I mean small, with 0 promotion and no marketing) of people knew about it and still bought it, that this helped validate the product enough to go out and capture a larger size of the market.
