I’m 18 years old and I am homeless

    OFF-TOPIC
Make amends with Mom and move back home. You can appease the parents and still follow your own path. Once you get enough capital to rent a place, you're set!

If You're Doing This, You're Fooling Yourself That You're an Independent Thinker

    GOLD! MINDSET
I've been getting into social media for professional reasons, namely LinkedIn, and it blows me away the content people are sharing regularly. It seems to be mostly a bunch of value vomitting quotes and "insights" on how everyone should live their lives. Nobody is discussing anything. They...

How soon should I start seeing results from FB ads?

    MARKETING
I agree with James. Unless you're really short on time, your $4k would be better spent educating yourself instead of educating a freelancer.

To sell or not to sell (my profiting website)? This is the question!

Of the affiliate sites I've worked on for other people there are always a couple things to change that can have huge impacts. No sense changing x if y is where the money is at. Have you broken down the analytics and identified where 80% of the $ is coming from? A few tweaks might double your...

How soon should I start seeing results from FB ads?

    MARKETING
How do you get sales now? Can you build a look alike audience off your main traffic source? That might cut the learning curve.

    Anybody here a Freemason?

    OFF-TOPIC
Funny to see this today as just yesterday I toured the main Freemason lodge in New York City. It's interesting that this "secret" organization has been around for thousands of years. After a couple of hours of listening to freemasons talk about their club it seems like a place where men go...

Question about deducting Facebook/Google ads as an agency

Some credit cards offer 3x points for Google ads. If you aren't losing out on fees somewhere else in the process then racking up lots of airline miles might be fun to do.

I'd like to use a hosting company called BLUEHOST.

Dreamhosts has been good to me for 3 years. They have various options at all levels of hosting. Their managed WordPress is good too. Faster than siteground when I've compared in the past. Affiliates like Bluehost because they pay more. They don't care about giving you the best option. It's all...

Firefighter/Entrepreneur seeking business ideas for off duty days

    IDEA
You might consider publishing some content about you. Check out Gary Vee on Youtube. It won't take more than a video or two for you to get his point that publishing content and building an audience is a great engine for any type of business. It doesn't have to be about anything in particular...

Grant Cardone is off his rocker...

    OFF-TOPIC
    Lol. Very insightful.

Grant Cardone is off his rocker...

    OFF-TOPIC
Going on someone's podcast for brand exposure might be obvious to you, but it isn't obvious to everyone. Some podcasts actually are about having a real conversation. This wasn't one of them, at least for Cardone. Maybe Belfort's intentions were different. It would seem they were. Personally I...

Read and Retain Books Without Wanting to Poke Your Eyes Out - (Speed Reading + Mind Mapping Guide)

What a great conversation so far. Thank you @Ethan S for your great post and thank you @Bertram for your thoughtful reply. I ran into the issue Bertram talks about but from the opposite angle. I spent a few months trying to outline my business processes and theories using mind maps and...

    Reading Habits, suggestions?

You might tell the story of how this method came to be and lessons you learned after practicing it. More examples of your mind maps might be interesting to see and provide an inside look to some books that others may find interesting.

    Reading Habits, suggestions?

That's interesting that you transcribe highlights. Can you elaborate on this process and the benefits you've noticed? Do you always do this?

    Reading Habits, suggestions?

10 pages per day. Finish all books I start. (Makes me more selective) Will read a lot to solve a specific problem I try to maintain the habit of reading every day hence the 10 pages. I typically have 5+ books going.

Anyone have experience renovating absolute run down homes?

    HOT! REAL ESTATE
A home inspector referred to you by your realtor is going to want to keep those referrals coming and is incentivized to not kill the deal.

Anyone have experience renovating absolute run down homes?

    HOT! REAL ESTATE
As a long-time remodeler and home builder I can tell you that it always takes more work, time, and money than you expect in the beginning, even for seasoned professionals. I've known a lot of people who have bought houses to fix up and/or flip and ended up in a huge uphill struggle because they...

Grant Cardone is off his rocker...

    OFF-TOPIC
I don't know why, but I'm enjoying seeing everyone's take on this. I imagine it's like watching a soap opera. Here's a thought. Cardone went on Belfort's show to get exposure to Belfort's audience. Instead of validating Belfort's style and strategy he completely went the other direction and...

    Cold Emailing Restaurants

I would test the waters before throwing new restaurants into a cold campaign. The first email can ask them a question or try to make a reservation. Figure out: A) Do they check their emails? B) When do they check their emails? C) Who is checking the emails? Manager? Chef? Hostess? Bases on...

Why Can't I Just Do The Dang Work?

    INTRO
Sometimes when I think about the motivation problem that seems to plague so many people I get the idea that it isn't really a motivation problem. It's a distraction problem. If you didn't have the internet on your phone. If you didn't have video games to play. If you didn't have Netflix to...
