How do i rank my Blog?

    MARKETING
I wrote a post recently that offers a counterintuitive perspective on blogging and organic traffic. While everyone says quality over quantity, I propose a different strategy. That doesn't mean that quality isn't important. I just think it's less important until there are actually people reading...

Restarting the Engine After a Semi-failed Niche Attempt

    FTE EXECUTION
Update: Well, you know what they say. It's a process. That's exactly what I'm experiencing. It's been over a month since my last update and I've been diligently working on the strategy I laid out in past posts, doing my best to track my efforts and progress. This might be the last update in...

    Any tradesmen in here?

    HOT!
Sounds like you should look into Al Levi. MJ mentions him in unscripted. I've been talking to lately and he seems like the perfect guy to help you. It's worth a look. Al set up the processes in his family trades business before exiting to train other business owners on setting up processes. His...

Job Offer After College - $17 an hour - Demotivated, should I take it?

    FTE
Here's an idea: Make a list of all the companies you want to work for, not just the ones that are posting job ads. Ask to speak to the hiring manager so you can ask them questions about their idea applicants. Find out why they hired the last few people. Was it a degree? Was it experience? What...

    Any tradesmen in here?

    HOT!
I've worked in residential construction my whole life and now spend most of my time as a marketing consultant for construction companies so I'll share what I see. Residential construction is super fragmented. There are so many factors but I believe one of the main ones is that so many companies...

Anyone using IP targeting or geofencing with display ads?

    MARKETING
If you're showing display ads to people that have physically been in a certain area then it sounds like what people do online all the time. Why wouldn't it work?

How i cheated the system and got an apartment

Nice job! Your story shows that it's never a bad idea to just ask for what you want. I see this with sales all the time. I'll ask for what I want even if I think there's only a small chance I'll get it. Once in a while the answer is yes and I save a bunch of time and money. I give this...

It's ok to have a job AND pursue other things. Hell, I'm looking for a job even though I have a 3-year-old business that is doing fine. I want to get paid to continue building skills I don't have and learning from others is the fastest way to do it. At 22 I definitely didn't have enough...

I Am Being Blackmailed - Need Help

Time to pay $200 or get a new email. Maybe you can call a news outlet and see if they want to run a story on this. Sounds interesting. You can use this publicity to pump your brand or a new website or whatever. Then send the Chinese dude an email thanking him for giving you leverage to blow...

Marketing Agency - put prices or not

    MARKETING WEB DESIGN
It's kind of like going to a plumbers website and wanting to see how much plumbing costs.... How can they know the price before they see your house and learn from you what the problem is? If you want to buy pipes, go to Home Depot. If you want a generic website that will do nothing for your...

Minimum Viable Content Model for SEO and Content Marketing

    MARKETING
Usually I'm writing on topics I know we'll, so I'll bust out a standard outline that is something like: Intro What Why How Example in real world Next steps It usually ends up between 750 - 1250 in about 30-60 min depending on the subject. The article in my example above that ranked in a few...

I need to learn English to understand this forum properly.

Some people learn English by watching TV shows like Friends. I can't think of a better way to learn English than The Fastlane Forum. Not only do you pick up the most valuable language in the world but you do it with the most valuable content in the world. Double-whammy. (Google that)

Should I stop watching the news?

    HOT!
News is just a reality TV show these days. YouTubers are just trying to earn a living by catering to their audience while trying not to violate TOS so they can continue earning enough to survive. The news cycle is too short these days. You could literally watch the news all day and never be...

Marketing Agency - put prices or not

    MARKETING WEB DESIGN
With websites you can't offer a perfect solution until you know a lot about the company and their goals. If you see a price before someone knows the details then it doesn't mean anything and it moves the conversation towards price way before its time. I see this on Upwork every day. People post...
