HOT! CHATThis is absolutely beautiful! I always think back to the guy complaining about wanting Universal Basic Income because he has like 10 years "direct pizza experience" and can't afford to live, even though he has some masters of arts degree or some BS. Go where your value is. People get hired to...- GPM

Random Chat, Thoughts, Posts, and/or Rants Thread
HOT! CHATMy brother was kind of in the same boat as you. He found something better and handed in his resignation and was honest with them. They ended up thinking it over and realized how bone headed it would be to lose him, and I think he got 3x his salary and ended up staying.- GPM

Bitcoin / Cryptocurrency Discussion (And Predictions)
HOT! CRYPTO CHATI have a friend who had a few thousand of them or something back in the day. The price went up to a few bucks and he sold them for a top of the line PC, and stayed out. Fast forward to today and that PC is now in a landfill. He jokes that at least he got a computer out of it, some people only...- GPM

Bitcoin / Cryptocurrency Discussion (And Predictions)
HOT! CRYPTO CHATPut all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket like hell. I am not in the same league as you guys, but I have picked my basket, and I am starting to hit that exponential hockey curve on it. Baby steps, but yea... throw those eggs somewhere you have control and somewhere you can...- GPM

Random Chat, Thoughts, Posts, and/or Rants Thread
HOT! CHATThat was not me who originally said that. What I said was Canada used to have a homogeneous set of values that made this country great. I agree with what you said, certain people removed the requirements to come here and just shoe-horned a bunch of people into the country for the sake of it...- GPM

Random Chat, Thoughts, Posts, and/or Rants Thread
HOT! CHATIf USA is anything like Canada, it probably has changed a lot recently, and not for the better. Regarding ethnicity. Growing up I would say my base of friends was an even mix of 2nd generation Canadians from Polish, Filipino, Ukrainian heritage, and the remaining 50% being white 3-4th gen...- GPM

HOT! CHATI snapped a picture of this the other day at a pub. This is the only time you will catch me with a phone in my hand in a washroom, when there is a witty poster or an advert for a concert or something.- GPM

The lifestyle, hobbies, and fun thread.
HOT! CHATI used to have a motorbike, a cruiser, a Honda Shadow. When I met my wife I actually did not have a car, just the bike. I would pick her up like 3x a week on my bike, do my grocery shopping with a huge backpack. Rain or shine, this was my transportation. What was scary on the bike was not me...- GPM

Rucking. Carrying a backpack full of heavy stuff for long distances.
HEALTHThanks @Kak , I just picked up a 66lb (30kg) vest for doing this. My backpack was really really uncomfortable at the 45ish lbs I had in it. I also did not want to break it, I like to use it as a normal backpack from time to time. I figure using the vest will also free up my hands incase I go...- GPM

HOT! CHATTo lighten the thread back up.... I just sold my old bench and rack, and upgraded to this bad Boy! Assembling it was a bit of a pain, but damn is it nice! I guess I'll need to upgrade from my 1" plates to 2" Olympic one of these days. Pegs for 1" for these racks does not exist.- GPM

Fitness trackers and biometric devices, worth it?
HEALTHI have a Garmin Fenix of some sort that I use to track workouts and bike rides. I really like the way it integrates with Strava to let me know how I am doing on rides. I don't pay for any subscriptions for any of these since I only do fun cool stuff in the summer. I don't like to wear it while...- GPM

HOT! CHATMaybe not that they personally thought it was a good idea, but that they farm out their thinking to those who told them it was a good idea. Who needs to think about anything when we have someone else to tell us what to think!- GPM

The Quest for a Clearer Mind and Less Digital Assault on my Attention
MINDSETIgnore your scruples about time wasting videos, and go down the privacy rabbit hole in YouTube and other places. Once you realize these devices (especially Apple) are essentially just spy machines, you are going to be so freaked out you won't even want to use devices. My next Amazon purchase...- GPM
