Questions regarding Google Adsense and other alternatives to monetize your website / blog

    MARKETING
Forget Adsense. You'll make peanuts doing that. You're a financial advisor ... right ...? Sell YOU. Run your own ads ... for YOU. That's how you make money with a blog. Selling high-margin products and services ... that YOU own and control.

Nah ... you're thinking about it the wrong way. You didn't get rejected ... you just figured out one more approach ... that does NOT work. ;) On the road to success. Hey ... at least you asked ... right ...? No one ever landed a date slinking in a corner. Just play the law of averages...

Cost of Developing an App Across All Platforms

    WEB/DIGITAL
I suppose that is an idea ... BUT ... if Apple is not making any money off of it ... doesn't that significantly lessen the likelihood that Apple will promote it ...? I'm thinking that the more money Apple makes off the product ... the more likely it is the Apple will push it to the front of the...

Cost of Developing an App Across All Platforms

    WEB/DIGITAL
Yes ... I will absolutely be outsourcing this project out. I don't know the first thing about coding beyond some very (very) basic HTML. As far as the concept itself goes ... I want to keep quiet about that (for obvious reasons). But what I have in mind ... is something very simple. Just a...

Cost of Developing an App Across All Platforms

    WEB/DIGITAL
Well ... I guess it depends on what you consider to be a "huge budget." I checked out Xamarin's website. The business plan only costs $999.00 a year ... which is entirely doable if that is what we're talking about here. Is that what you were referring to ...? Why do you think Xamarin is...

Cost of Developing an App Across All Platforms

    WEB/DIGITAL
I have a stand-alone App in mind ... I'd like to develop in 2015. Nothing too complex ... quite basic actually ... but I think it has significant potential. I've never developed an App before ... so here is what I am trying to figure out: Apple ... Android ... Windows ... and (maybe)...

    Gamblers - what's your game?

    OFF-TOPIC
Know what you're saying. I stopped gambling 15 years ago ... the amount of money I would need to wager to make card counting worth my while ... is not something I'm comfortable betting at a casino.

    Gamblers - what's your game?

    OFF-TOPIC
Well ... yeah ... hard to argue that. Waves crash. Deal a great set of hands in round one ... and I'm out of there. I know what's left in the deck! No question about it. You know ... this topic brings to mind a conversation I have from time to time ... when I am sitting at a dinner table...

    Gamblers - what's your game?

    OFF-TOPIC
No ... actually the premise is correct. I used to play blackjack ... was a very good card counter ... and can honestly say ... I won more than I lost. Here is how it works: 1. You memorize how to play every possible combination. 2. You keep a running tab of the cards (in your head) as they...

    IDEA
Well ... my first business was a law a office ... so no ... didn't "license" that ... and yes ... it earns revenue. Feel free to PM me. I prefer not to talk about the specifics of what I do on a public forum. ;)

Deployed. Great business idea at the wrong time? Help!

    IDEA
Doing business with friends and family is almost always a bad idea ... in any context. And doing business with fellow members of the military ...? Absolutely nuts! Think about the potential problems you could face ... under the UCMJ ... or otherwise ... if business relations between you and...

Deployed. Great business idea at the wrong time? Help!

    IDEA
Five years in the Marine Corps (92-97). I agree ... three years is a bit long to wait. Just plan ahead for the contingency that "you" will be unavailable ... and you should be fine. And I'd keep what you are doing on the down low ... no one in the military needs to know.

Deployed. Great business idea at the wrong time? Help!

    IDEA
Well ... I'm not an APP expert ... so I'm afraid there is not much I (personally) can tell you. But ... I am a military vet ... so I have to ask: how much time do you have left before you are out ...? (assuming you intend to get out ... I may be wrong) The reason I ask is ... in the military...
