All Personal Finance Experts Are Liars

    INVESTING
To be fair, I've read your report, and it is true, just had to say something about the title :) All Personal Finance Experts Are Liars... I'm guessing that excludes you? Adding to the report: there are people who are self-employed who are slow-lane (they work $$/hour) and there are people...

    Business idea

    IDEA MINDSET
Credit with your supplier would they take a higher $$ payment if you could wait 30 days? tell them you're starting out, and you would like to try it, is this possible? if not, could you pay 25% down, and they take back the machinery if it doesn't work out (you would probably have to be very...

My name is Victor and I'm a 9 to 5 wage slave...for now

    INTRO
Money to start up a business, double the amount that you think. However, you can often find a way to do it with less... but it takes some creative thinking: Examples: Selling lemonade on the street corner and don't have startup capital? Ask your potential buyer (Mom and dad) if they will pay...

[RANT]: Raise the minimum wage! This is so unfair!

    GOLD! EXECUTION
a new argument for banning the minimum wage: The average worker in the US is not grateful to have a job real-life example: Worker was working for construction guy, the worker drops some nails by accident... the driver of the work crew decided to be helpful and picked the nails up, and hands...

Switching from team consumption to team production

    INTRO
I would suggest getting a few odd jobs to learn more skills (lawn mowing, construction, maybe even fast food service attendant) for the people skills and/or learning some insight into certain industries/markets. actually getting your feet in the work force will teach you things that books...

    Are patents worth it?

@James90 had asked if I would suggest patenting his ideas (I won't share his exact words, but here is most of the response) Here are some of the cost equations that you need to do: 1. are you willing to devote dollars to chasing anyone that goes against the patents? if you are not willing to...

    Are patents worth it?

@James90 asked for my thoughts in private message, sharing some tidbits on here regarding patents: My basic thought on how to do business: may the best person win... the person inventing things will always be out ahead of those that copy... my neighbor created a new product... basically a...

    Are patents worth it?

I've never given out an NDA. I've only once been asked to sign one. So, not a lot of experience.. but I (IMO) would be able to share baxis details without an NDA. If it's super secret, then you should be making it in house anyway, as the technical know-how will still be in the supplier business...

    GOLD!
good points to be made! Employee safety should be #1 goal, and after that, good use of their time :) I see A LOT of WASTED potential in employees "just doing their job" that don't think about improving anything. If you can get your employees engaged in thinking about stuff, they will be 2x as...

Why is it advised to never mention MOQ first when working with manufacturers?

my system (it's working good so far) 1'st email: Hi, wondering if you guys make things like this? (see photos) or if I should be reaching out to someone else? 2nd email "Hi so and so, see attached samples/photos/measurements. We're looking to do a batch of 500 pcs, but can you give me a...

Is there a market for inventing languages?

Had to think of shorthand... Shorthand alphabet - Google Search Might not have encryption to the max, but it is something that could easily be adapted for encryption if you transpose or replace a few letters/symbols. I studied cryptography during school 7-8 grade, in my spare time, so I'm...

    Are patents worth it?

not in the process. The model that I outlined can be done within a day or a week (and I've done that already, conception to market within a weeks time, actually, 2 days... ) should add step 7, modify product based on customer feedback and sell even more (new/improved models, sometimes to same...

    Are patents worth it?

that is it in a nutshell... items and why they didn't work #1: a unique item, for a certain industry, which (according to the inventor) was proven to make racing horses run faster. a definite win for him and the customer. Cost of the harness went up from $400 ish to $700ish (basically, $300...

    Are patents worth it?

have experience with multiple patents here, but not how you would expect :) We manufacture goods for people, so I have people come to our company time and again with a patent, and they want to either have us make something, or want to license it through our company. I expect that in 9 out of 10...
