Great apps, tools, software... What do you use?

    NOTABLE! HOT!
Yeah GIMP is decent. Another good piece of freeware is Inkscape, especially if one is working with vector graphics.

Do You Enjoy the Place Where You Live?

    HOT! OFF-TOPIC
Currently living in rural Saskatchewan Canada... So here's what I dislike about living "out in the sticks." Lack of population Poor/mediocre internet at a high cost Cold winters (We had a -60C night this last winter.)

How to kill your limiting belief system.

    HOT! MINDSET
Interesting thread. I will try this first technique out although I do feel as though I often let my unconscious demons speak internally; especially if I'm not doing anything that requires a great deal of focus.

How do you use The Fastlane Forum?

    OFF-TOPIC
I generally stick to the main page and my notifications. However, I also: use search if I have a topic/keyword in mind sometimes go to a relevant sections of the forum that relate to what I do or have interest in. go back to GOLD threads that I feel like I need a refresher on. start a thread...

Hyperinflation starting? What's happening in your area? Post your ground reports.

    HOT! INVESTING
Witnessing lumber and OSB skyrocket here in Saskatchewan Canada. Housing has been on the steady climb as well. Crack houses in a city by a safe injection site go for $100k+ (and of course they don't take any photos of the interior to show potential buyers.) Also, found it funny that my...

I said: "The website is $3000". They said: "Too expensive! I was thinking $500!"

    HOT! MARKETING
Sounds like they are concerned/uncertain as to how a website will actually get them results. This can be tough as they have never had a website or any social media before. I believe a deal can still be made if you wish to pursue this project, but it is also okay to refuse a project if you simply...

    Webflow?

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
I believe you could learn webflow quicker than HTML and CSS. I wouldn't worry about mastering anything in only 2 months. But, I believe that is more than enough time to learn the stuff that matters. Also, don't worry about not knowing certain things or making mistakes. You'll do good, just...

    Webflow?

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
I've built with Webflow for clients before and would reckon there are web designers who may even use it exclusively. There are pros and cons to using Webflow, though I will say that I find it to be one of the better visual front end editors. I think if you combine it along with the...

Computer Code Is Dead. What's Next?

    HOT!
Exactly. I find the editors that attempt to accommodate more varieties of websites often create their own learning curves which is counter intuitive to the "easy" selling point they were going for from the beginning.

Hey MJ & co. Why Is "Everyone Doing It" On NFTs? Is It The Real Deal?

    HOT! INVESTING
There are potential opportunities with NFTs, but you likely won't find success by watching a clickbait youtube video or reading an article online from a popular source. I can already picture the flood of charlatan guru's and their ads trying to sell me $997 courses on how to sell millions of...

Computer Code Is Dead. What's Next?

    HOT!
Disagree that code is dead (but understand the reasoning to use such copy in the title.) Leveraging WYSIWYG editors and/or templates/frameworks will never kill the foundations of that of which it is built on. Plus, technology and how we interface with it is always changing and new markets will...

    Could you kill an animal?

    HEALTH
People can lawfully hunt and eat both ducks and geese in Canada. There are specific hunting seasons here for it in many zones. Though I am not certain of each provinces laws. I've personally eaten both duck and goose. And I have also killed more birds and animals than I can count. I am happy to...

What do you think of dreams/dreaming?

    HEALTH
    1. Yes, I dream every night. 2. Some nights they are more intense than others, but I'd say that even the normal dreams I have are still quite silly to reflect on. I also experience sleep paralysis once in a while. Which used to be quite frightening, but now I find those experiences fascinating...

Depends on the province I suppose, we had some freeze to death in my province. If I was ever homeless, I'd do whatever it takes to find a better environment or at least suitable shelter.

Attention website owners! Here is why you should never use Bluehost and Hostgator (and 78 other web hosting services) for hosting your website!

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
While it can be a good option, one needs to invest in reliable hardware and also be aware of their locations power and internet connection reliability. Perhaps even getting a backup at a separate location and/or a backup power generator if necessary. You do have more control in having your own...

Future of web development - Asking opinions

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Knowing how to code and approaching web design/development as a student who is always willing to learn and adapt to the everchanging environment is likely the best way to set yourself up for success. There's always more to learn and more problems to solve. Also want to add: I am not saying that...
