ACoS shot up this week to an insane amount, 60%. Same conversion rate, CPC and everything else. I wonder if a competitor is clicking my ads. PPC accounts for roughly 25% of sales, rest is organic. Only thing I did different was raise my default bid by $.1 across the automatic and manual campaigns.

I plan on checking and confirming with my supplier before sending any money but good to know to ask about insurance and to get in contact with the US agent before money is sent. Ill have to find out how much I owe in duty and taxes.

High competition means there's more money to be made. There's also hijackers, review group users, and people with deeper pockets that can afford to take losses for a long period of time and buy MOQs that you might not be able to afford, eventually beating you on margins. If you can and want to...

I will help you find a product to sell on Amazon

    GOLD!
I was looking at this product earlier today https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0087BI9KW/?tag=tff-amazonparser-20 A lot of what you said applies here. Plus I came to the conclusion that because of the size but low volume nature of the niche, the storage costs would eat me alive. The biggest downside...

Hi Walter, I'm about to order via sea freight, last time it was just air courier. I asked my supplier for a quote and he gave me DDU terms and I asked him to confirm that it includes customs and port clearance. He confirmed and said it is door-to-door. An agent in the US will contact me with...

Signed up for Splitly - Contacted new manufacturers for alternatives for outsourcing the assembly - Reaching out to 3rd party centers here in the US - Talked to my current supplier about lower MOQ which he agreed to - Asked my supplier again emphasizing that assembly on our end is an issue that...

What is your guys' take on popular Youtube vloggers?

    WEB/DIGITAL
People look at youtubers like they fell into fortune a$$ backwards. It takes dedication and work and sacrifice to make a following of 10k followers let alone millions. If millions of people are subscribed to your content then you're doing something right. It means you don't buy influencers to...

I'm currently in talks with another few suppliers to see if I can have them make two parts for me that is outsource-able. If I don't get this product to where I can have it imported and fulfilled by a 3rd party center without me having to assemble it, I don't think I will pursue it further after...

I used Walter Hay's book. Alibaba works if you know what to look for. It's not difficult to find a manufacturer versus a trader, you can kind of figure it out eventually.

Thanks, hmm I guess I hadn't considered too much that aspect of it because I only have 1 product and wanted to try to make it work. The time period to get my money back is unknown since I've only been up 2 weeks but I can quickly estimate the turnover based on daily sales rate. 5 sales/day =...

Thanks. Asking you the same question, based on your experience, how many months of inventory is appropriate? 6 months? The inventory and turn around changes depending on what I estimate my daily sales rate will be. If the last 6 weeks ends up being 2x-3x (my product would make a decent gift...

Thanks. Based on your experience, how many months of inventory would be ideal at one time? I can't be 100% sure but the holidays might allow me to move 20-30 units/day? If that's the case then the inventory would last me about 6 months or less. It will also allow me to move down the price...

I have a question for any ecommerce guys reading, I'm crossing bridges as I get to them. Today I hit $1300 in sales revenue at the 2 week mark. Problem: Inventory management, margins. I'm selling about 5/day at the $25 price point. I sell 10/day at the $19.99 price point. This is with less...

What is your take on a 30% COGS figure and the difference you've experienced between Amazon and ebay for the bottom line? 30% COGS + 45% Amazon Fees (in general) = 75% Cost = 25% profit margin - ad spend - labor. After all said and done margins are around 10-15%, and on top of that it's low...

    Why is Scottsdale so awesome?

    OFF-TOPIC
Uh dont get a DUI or youre going straight to tent prison. So hot that there are underground tunnels from parking structures to work. It's the desert, kiss your lawn goodbye. I remember something ridiculous like 70% of all people in AZ are not natives. There's good job and housing market, lower...

    Why is Scottsdale so awesome?

    OFF-TOPIC
My employer was paying to relocate people to AZ and flew me out. I really enjoyed Tempe a lot more than I thought I would. Its not as congested and suffocating as Los Angeles. And I like the heat, although AZ its a bit too much. Only bad would be no lane splitting for motorcycles.

Made a decent jump in price to keep from going out of stock. Still selling. I guess that answers the previous doubts whether or not I can charge a premium for my product when others are charging 1/2 that. Once I figure out just how high I can go with steady sales, if it's the premium price...

What's your experience with going out of stock and losing the buybox to yourself by raising prices to severely? I'm learning my first lesson now. I'm about to run out of stock and have been inching a little by little upwards and it has had no effect on sales. I have about 1/2 day worth of...
