How to Learn Code, Start a Web Company, $15k+ per month within 9 months
GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEI've mailed and called a handful of contractors. All were too small to be interested though. Mostly 1 or 2 man "companies" who can barely afford another truck. Be on the lookout for bigger ones with more employees etc- JDx

Why did this product fail?
Seems like one of those "nice to have" kind of things, where you think it's a great idea, but nobody actually buys one. Why did it fail? Probably because they started working on it because they thought it was a good idea without checking if there might be a demand(or dare I say need) for it...- JDx

How to Learn Code, Start a Web Company, $15k+ per month within 9 months
GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEFWIW, I also do logos and pretty much anything that is desired by the client (obviously to a certain extent) like photo's etc. Easy mode; designmantic.com, logopond.com, stocklogos.com . Bonus points; use the logo's at the above sites for inspiration and give it your own twist (so it's free and...- JDx

How to Learn Code, Start a Web Company, $15k+ per month within 9 months
GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEAre you talking to local companies? Do you have a camera? What I did was shoot my own pictures along with some photostock ones and create the website with that. Prevents you having to wait, and can be seen as an extra service. "Here is your website, along with some decent quality photos of your...- JDx

How to Learn Code, Start a Web Company, $15k+ per month within 9 months
GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEJust called every company I emailed. Unable to reach 3 and 1 where the person responsible/handling emails wasn't in the office. The other 6 got my mails just fine. They weren't interested, were working on their site themselves (lol right) or someone else was still finishing up. 1 even said he...- JDx

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLENegative, they are "construction"/contractor companies, very small, so most don't have an office. Perhaps a wrong or difficult customer to be targeting. I will follow up on them tomorrow, that'll make it 2 full days after the mails. Thanks.- JDx

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEThanks for the responses everyone. Totally did not think of those points. Thanks, I'll make sure I add in a scarcity factor / time limit. The companies are all locals and close to my home, so perhaps I'll just stop by. See below for details on the free sites. Thanks Andy. The companies I...- JDx

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEI've had the domain for less than 2 weeks now, and sent less than 20 or so emails. So I hardly think I could have been blacklisted myself that quickly. Probably the server I'm on that's ruining things. It looks like only some email boxes flag it as spam, such as hotmail/live. Gmail or other...- JDx

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEHave you guys had any trouble with GoDaddy and their emailing functions, as in; emails sent from your own domain (@foxwebdesign.com etc) ending up in spam? I've just sent out 10 mails to potential clients, only to find out that my email goes to the spam folder.. :shifty: Seriously doubting if I...- JDx

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEIf I may answer for Fox here; Fox mentioned he makes changes free of charge for 1 month. After that he charges XX per hour for any changes or edits. So, if the customer is not happy, he has 1 month to let you know what he DOES want/like. edit: so you don't do refunds- JDx

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEFox, I have/had a client specific question but I guess posting it in here might help others. Currently I've made 4 websites, 2 of which are my own (1 for the webshop I run, 1 my personal page with portfolio), 1 for a restaurant which I did for free and 1 which is almost finished and I've...- JDx

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEJust finished my 1st website for a client; I was planning on delivering everything today but due to a lack of time on their side we have postponed it till Saturday. Feels good to have it done! Lesson learned for the next site; make sure the template is responsive. It was a bit of a headache...- JDx

Germany Meetup Opportunities
MEETUPS@Seeker suggested the possibility of perhaps doing a skype call/meeting instead. I liked the idea, we'd just need some people who can give a short talk or presentation on a subject that they like. If anyone would be down, post below.- JDx
