Using Slowlane skills to start Fastlane business

    SLOWLANE EXECUTION
Hi Feek, Nice to see a fellow Fastlaner who works in IT as well! I haven't got the amount of experience as you in the field yet (3+ years), but I can relate to what you are trying to set up. I am Software Tester myself and see that outsourcing development to lower wage countries isn't going...

    HOT!
Not sure what the best book is but I believe Invent It, Sell It, Bank It from Lori Greiner is a pretty popular book on product development. Nice thread btw, will be following this for sure

On Track To Do $60k In Sales Next Month. But......

    EXECUTION
Hey man, really nice to see how you grew your business by yourself without someone holding you back. I know the feeling of wanting to work with someone but in the same time you want to take all the decisions yourself. Some advice from others is always good though :-) I have been cold calling...

The 2015 Fastlane Meetup Pre-Plan Discussion (formerly B&P)

    MEETUPS
I was already looking for the prices of tickets (coming from Europe) but then realized that my wife is due for delivery in March so I'll skip 2015. I'm putting it on my agenda for 2016. Started a new venture last week so hopefully that's up and running in 2016 too! Will start a progress thread...

[PROGRESS THREAD] From 0 Subscribers to Money Making Website

How big is this market for low cost recipes? Are people actively looking for low cost recipes? And how many visitors do you currently have on your site? I like your idea of creating ebooks with recipes. That's definitely fastlane! Thought about creating a ebook myself with easy to make Paleo or...

    MARKETING
Hi Koolst, First of all I see you are new here so I hope people aren't going to be too harsh because you're asking for help before providing any value to forum first. But let me give you my thoughts. What could be improved according to me: I don't really understand the additional value of...

[ADVICE NEEDED:] Which of these two paths should I take?

If I would start something next to my fulltime job, I would definitely go for the more passive route. Unless of course, you want to quit your fulltime job asap and decide your own hours to work on another passive venture. What about writing an ebook for your market?

Is it really THAT hard? Can I do it?

    EXECUTION
Like many members already said, doing the right thing is more important than putting in long hours of work. You can save yourself a lot of unnecessary tasks by doing the right thing. Gary Keller wrote a great book (The One Thing) explaining why you should focus on only ONE thing and how you can...

China is getting very hungry. Will you provide? (Massive opportunities in China)

    HOT!
Lately I'm trying to improve my "need radar" and stumbled upon your comment. Might this missing stuff be interesting for you to sell in the US? Just a thought, you may already be working on your fastlane idea..

Diving into Code - all help and criticism welcome

    EXECUTION
I used www.codecademy.com and liked it a lot. Great explanation and lots of small challenges to solve. Regarding languages, I recommend to start out with Python or Ruby. Python is a very beginner friendly language and easy to wrap your head around. Once you get the hang of it you can start with...

Hi, I now have a website and an app awaiting review to be in the Apple store

    WEB/DIGITAL
I love your idea. Not sure what it does in detail but it seems you are really providing a lot of value for your customers! About the website: do you think your customers will be interested in your company or your solution? Like said before by another member, I would mention the product and what...

    Oil and Gas Field?

I can also imagine that inspection is something that costs these companies money. As an example, I have met some young guys here in NL who are doing wind mill inspections with drones which were otherwise done with helicopters. Imagine the cost savings for those energy companies. Also, less...

Made barely anything from erotica, any advice?

    PUBLISHING
Agree that the titles can be improved. Think of titles that create visuals in the mind of your customers. In order to write catchy titles, learn copywriting. There's a whole section on the forum called "copywriting challenge" or something like that. If you don't want to read all books, I...

How did you choose your market?

I love your suggestion and have thought about it already. Actually I'm still thinking about solutions every day. The problem is I'm working as a consultant for a large IT company (fortune 500) which mainly develops systems internally and does not really like buying from external providers...

How did you choose your market?

I'm following JackEdwards recommendation and approach business owners by asking them about their challenges. Since I have a 9-5 job it does take way too long to find a good amount of ideas unfortunately... I try forcing ideas as well but haven't had any good luck with it yet.
