Questions to non-native English speaking people that write in English

    OFF-TOPIC
I'm following this thread ... I've tried to hire content writers in Pakistan (where people are taught English as a second language in large numbers), with no luck. People there just don't understand the US culture well enough for it to work well. At least, not the ones I've run across. I may...

    MARKETING
Building on successes. So, I've been depressed my whole life. Depression is insidious. It seeps into every corner of life, skewing everything it touches. It can take the most beautiful thing and turn it dark. What's the opposite of depression? Building on success. I've been doing more...

that's awesome. thank you. I'll go listen. I'm used to a completely custom engagement for each customer, so this will be a bit of a switch for me, so it will be good to get some perspective.

    MARKETING
I knew about what Godaddy is doing, but not the WP Curve portion. I took a brief look recently at what Godaddy does and was not impressed. They're quite expensive for what they do, which is good for what I'm doing.

Is it Possible to automate this business? Please share your expertise. Time is very crucial

I run a custom software business, so I have experience with automating things like this. My first line of attack on this, though, isn't software. Its Process. First: I highly doubt that you sell 50,000 items evenly. I'd bet that, maybe 500 things sell regularly, and the rest trail off from...

    MARKETING
I almost feel bad writing stuff here because I always want what I write to have value to others. This is a diary, though, so read this stuff only if you like that kind of thing. Your money may vary. --- WordPress stuff I've had the LinkedIn marketing people working away now for 2+ weeks...

Where to find good VA for web dev?

    SIDE HUSTLE
"build websites" for whom? Building amazon.com is insanely difficult. Building thefastlaneforum.com is difficult. JoeTheMechanicDownTheStreet.com is simple. JoesPizzaShopFranchise.com that competes with a lot of other pizza restaurants is difficult. Simple = not much experience necessary...

Where to find good VA for web dev?

    SIDE HUSTLE
There are several different types of VA's for this: 1) VA that claims to be able to manage a project - These come in all shapes and sizes. Most of them won't produce what you're wanting. 2) VA that is a developer - These are typically technically able to do what you want, but aren't good at...

Advise on tour operator business. (market strongly hit by covid)

Could you do safe tours of some sort? Here in Seattle, we are all going stir crazy. There are only so many times you can go to a park or what not before that gets incredibly tedious. If there were a guided, socially distanced event of some sort, I'd pay for that.

Advise on tour operator business. (market strongly hit by covid)

that is kind of amazing about portions of tourism. That seems to be the case all over the place. Why kind of pivot could you do in the meantime that would be travel related that would be your version of surfing? Should you pivot?

Advise on tour operator business. (market strongly hit by covid)

Couple questions: 1) How quickly do you think the travel industry will come back after a vaccine is produced? Will it be a trickle, or will people be desperate to get out and explore once again? How can you market based on what you think will happen? 2) When will this recovery happen? And...

Information regarding app development? (Create Your Own VS Outsource Developer VS In-House Developer)

You're pretty far ahead then. A couple things: 1) You'll also need to describe, in words, the functionality of the various buttons and fields on your U/I 2) Finding a good developer can be difficult. If your friend can help you interview developers, that would be best.

Information regarding app development? (Create Your Own VS Outsource Developer VS In-House Developer)

I do ... I own a custom software company that builds business-oriented web apps. My normal rant on this topic is, 'Yup, I could build this for you, but are you sure this is what you want? You haven't even tested the market first.' I've talked more than a few people out of building software...

    HOT!
Is there a way to have real-time group chat on the forum? I'd participate in a real time chat, but I think the point Fox makes is pretty valid.

Be picky when choosing clients, even when you're starting out

    SIDE HUSTLE RANT
I've been there/done that/so true/wish I could go back and yell at myself not to take crappy clients/etc. One thing you said that worries me: you're considering doing work for them still, if they pay you well. I'd suggest moving on completely. When they say, 'here's $100k to finish off this...

how about accounting? Certain aspects of accounting (forensic accounting, auditing, for example) need an obsessive style of work, and can pay quite well on a consulting basis. If you end up being able to bill $500/hr, that's pretty fastlane...
