A letter to MJ, my friends, fans and family... and my enemies...

    HOT!
This thread is also a good reminder how your thoughts and beliefs distort the lens in which you view the world. The distortion is obviously extreme in this case, but everyone does it. Don't believe everything your mind tells you.

    HOT!
Now compare that with this listing/photography. Also see the features list show benefits for each one. The title is a little keyword stuffy but use Google analytic and the amazon search auto fill to figure out what people search for. The point is don't use shitty photographs and make your...

Help me give birth to my business model

Take a look at a company called Swiss Colony. Basically did what Zen described above. Started a mail order cheese business in 1926 selling 50 orders and is now a $800 million dollar company. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colony_Brands

    Amazon FBA Horror Story

I'm not saying you can't make money but his first business got taken out for the same reason - lack of control. If you are selling the same products as 1000's of other retailers, it's pretty tough to stand out unless you compete on price and have 0 margin. Vig goes into this in a couple...

    Amazon FBA Horror Story

Came across this on another site and some valuable lessons learned. Guy gets sued for selling a "counterfeit" DVD and amazon closes his account: http://www.startupnation.com/start-your-business/plan-your-business/third-party-sellers-need-to-rethink-theamazon-fba-program/ 1.) Stay away from...

You need a new logo. I'm all for bootstrapping but your current logo is going to deter people from taking your site seriously. Is that a hair dryer in a shoe made in MS paint?? Put "professional" high resolution images of shoes on the front page. You need to get people emotionally involved...

Would like some honest feedback on social media site

    MARKETING SOCIAL MEDIA
It looks like you are trying to build a social media site off a generic parallax scrolling theme. What the benefits? Why would I sign up? There is zero value prop on this.

Developing an ODM Product for $40k, Should I ?

Have you looked at hiring a junior/senior EE student to do the PCB and programming? Even if they can't get it all they way, they should be able to get a decent prototype built for cheap. Also, if something similar exists, there should be schematics you can just build off of without reinventing...
