    I am guessing they said that because a piece of plank tile can span some distance, and thus be impacted if the substrate has variations. I nominate @danoodle to use some on his next house and report back. :-)

    Congrats on finding W/D space! Anyone have experience with plank tiles (durability, ease of installation, mortar bed depth, width of grout joints)? I saw someone say half inch mortar, which it am guessing might be as much for floor unevenness as for tile weight.
