Pro athletes now on the sidewalk

Glad you're enjoying it :) There is one quote from the documentary which is something I will always remember and it was said by Baltimore Raven's owner Steve Bisciotti: "You can live like a king for a year, or like a prince forever". Words spoken by someone who truly understands the value of money.

Pro athletes now on the sidewalk

Not sure if anyone has brought this up yet on this forum, but I just saw an awesome ESPN 30 for 30 documentary that deals with pro athletes going broke which is what the documentary is aptly named as: "Broke". I believe the statistic is that 70 percent of all NFL players go broke after...

Film showcasing the trails and tribulations to the fastlane

    EXECUTION
Hi guys, Last night I saw a great film that showcases the trials, tribulations, and challenges of trying to reach fastlane. The name of the film is "Indie Game: The Movie" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1942884/). The film is about independent game developers and the things they have to go...

BrucetonGuy, you hit it right on the head. A first time script writer will almost never receive upfront royalties. The production companies know you need them a lot more than they need you. If you can prove that you can write a hit, then the tables turn and you can negotiable for better terms...

I got TERMINATED from my job yesterday...planning Entrepreneur.

I used very abstract numbers to drive the point that you don't need high margins or high volume to make millions. Decent margins with higher than average volume could do the trick as well.

I got TERMINATED from my job yesterday...planning Entrepreneur.

While I love MJ's book, I don't agree with everything, namely that you need to impact millions to make millions or have to command a large margin per unit of whatever is sold to make millions. I believe you can make millions by charging a larger than average margin multiplied by a larger than...

    Movie script; Is this fastlane?

    EXECUTION
@Rawr, that would be great, thanks! @theDarkness, from my understanding, first time script writers are almost never offered royalties on the first film due to no track record. However if the film is a hit, royalties will be offered for us to write the sequels. At that point we proved we can...

    Movie script; Is this fastlane?

Finding funding by far is the most difficult part for any film maker. The payout is a flat fee for the first film but because we have set up the script to be a franchise we have royalty agreements for the sequels so that is where the real money will be made for us.

Hi Eskil, Sure if you can shoot me over your colleagues info that would be great. As far as the production company investing the full amount, production companies almost never do that. And instead of us putting up the initial funding (which we don't have anyway), we are looking for wealthy...

    Movie script; Is this fastlane?

Hi guys, Hoping I can get some insight. Some friends and I have written a movie script that has garnered immense interest in the industry. The script is in the horror film genre and we currently have a production company that wants to make the film with a 3 million dollar budget as well as...
