ROAST MY IDEA: Conversion Rate Optimization with AI

    IDEA SAAS / APPS
I think there is probably enough standard stuff about CRO that you could make something that would do a helpful job identifying the clear wins on any site. Sounds more like a tool for an agency to use or offer to clients than something you could sell to clients.

    General Forum Updates... What's New?

    IMPORTANT!
Thanks for clarifying, never sought business partners, but never realized it was prohibited. And absolutely. I now have two years of experience in the pastry business, so I'm thrilled to bring my talents to global pasty domination!

    General Forum Updates... What's New?

    IMPORTANT!
It took my eyes a second to get used to it, but this redesign is so much better! Question on partners and contacts - what was the prohibition, and what is allowed now? Happy to read a doc on that policy, I'm just not sure where I'd find it.

    Finally getting started!

    SIDE HUSTLE EXECUTION
I'm going to start posting shorter, more regular updates, but since the discussion continued here, and the thread was golded, I'm going to continue updating there. Basically, this thread was my "getting started" kickoff. We've decided this isn't our fastlane business for now, so I'm working on...

    I Feel Like Giving Up

    MINDSET
Lol good point, just read about Hertz filing for bankruptcy in 2020 to screw their bondholders, only to come out stronger post-covid. So to answer OP "Is this real?", no big F Failure is not real unless you quit. Only attempts fail, but only attempts lead to success.

    I Feel Like Giving Up

    MINDSET
I'm still new to entrepreneurship, but one thing I'm starting to believe is that I don't know what "Business Failure" actually means. Did you take out a loan and now you're going bankrupt? Did you set up a storefront that you're closing down? Honestly, only the first one is a true total...

What do you use for making invoices?

    QUESTION
Am I an idiot for using Square? It's worked great for us, though we're usually not sending PDFs. You can set up subscriptions and storefronts too.

Shifting the Paradigm From One-Off Website Design to Professional Website Management

    SIDE HUSTLE
This sounds so smart to me. I'm thinking of a similar model for another piece of the puzzle (not web design). Have you figured out how to merge all the reports into something customer-facing? That sounds like a huge value-add itself.

For sure! Feel free to most here or dm, happy to help if I can.

    Just a quick question…

    WEB DESIGN
If you're doing 12 months to $1M I assume you're doing ecommerce - shopify has worked great for me so far, and it'll save you a ton of time over learning to code yourself. Maybe learn to use AI to do it?

Advice for Selling to Grocery Stores

    EXECUTION QUESTION
Get it in people's mouths as soon as possible! Have you given it to friends? Taken it to a farmer's market? You'll find out real fast if it's good. If it's good, you'll get regular customers. Agree with everyone else here - once you confirm people like it (which you need to do before hitting up...

Local Biz, Agency, or Ecommerce - All things being equal, which model is highest leverage?

    IDEA EXECUTION
Great points. Any can be big. The agency path seems so much simpler to me given I already have the ability to go out and sell products, whereas manufacturing or coding something are both doable, but way more complicated to me. I personally know quite a few people making high 4 to 5 figures in...

Local Biz, Agency, or Ecommerce - All things being equal, which model is highest leverage?

    IDEA EXECUTION
That's what I'm trying to answer - assuming I killed it, which would be the best to pursue? So far all votes are for ecommerce. My idea right now is to do an agency model using a combo of skills I have for my own and other people's products. So the two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. My...

Local Biz, Agency, or Ecommerce - All things being equal, which model is highest leverage?

    IDEA EXECUTION
I need to find a new product to take to market. As long as it's a good, worthwhile thing, I'm confident I can innovate, value skew and build a trustworthy brand. I'm considering a number of options in each of 3 categories: Agency - One or more of things like website design, outsourced sales...

    Finally getting started!

    SIDE HUSTLE EXECUTION
Unfortunately it's been hard to keep up with how busy we've gotten, but we have a lot of big updates! As I left my job and started to focus full time on the business, we got so busy we were running around every day of the week, and we finally decided to stop doing the farmer's market. It took...

April Review: Sales increased 26% over March, which was already our best month ever Increased due to a a big market month (~50% of revenue), an increase in individual orders (~20% of revenue) and the first full month of two new partnerships (~30% of revenue) Our flavor of the month was popular...
