You Are About To See an EPIC Industry Change

    HOT!
hmmm will be interesting to see what happens. Embedded culture is very difficult to change and America is used to lower wages + tips. To me, tips are the most instant market feedback you can possibly get. But to Vig's point, I think Joe's Crab Shack is probably a well run organization and...

Technology for the home based small business

    OFF-TOPIC
17" laptop. For next round, hopefully they'll make a large convertible laptop/tablet 15-17" with digital wacom type pen. The newer surface book pros are getting there but want a bigger screen for an all around device especially on the go away from desk where i keep a larger screen. I Use a...

I have traffic but no conversions?

My advice is a different tack from the technical advice from the many web gurus here, because I am old skool, or just plain old. I am personally very tired of memes and quotes. I get bombarded by them everywhere. I'm pretty sure many other people are too. Mostly on social media where people...

Energy Drink Company FINISH BY 12/31/16

    EXECUTION
You said you are putting in a lot of money, hopefully you have hundreds of thousands if not millions to build a brand in that space in those retailers. I saw redbull years ago before they made a public splash. They did big marketing into the restaurant/bar market at major tradeshows giving...

    NDA

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Anyone who has ever been party to a lawsuit finds out the best money spent is anything upfront to mitigate risk. Every single employee, supplier, contractor signs one before setting foot in my biz. No exceptions. Having said that I just...

    Wall Street F*cked it up...again

    REAL ESTATE
just search for average retirement savings for the stats, the numbers are UGLY. We'll have a crapload of govt dependents growing and growing, relying on small savings and social security, meanwhile being a big draw on healthcare. "Welcome to our walmart....."

What I learned from lunch with a millionaire...

very true. Small growing businesses focus on sales(which is a good thing) but at some point spending time reviewing/sourcing/negotiating, and a few bucks(purchasing/sourcing specialist perhaps) to improve the "buy" side has a nice ROI, dropping right to the bottom line.

    My startup needs help

    HOT!
This type of pro-consumer business is ripe for local media coverage=free exposure=authority/credibility. Most TV/Radio news outlets have a consumer reporter that are looking to feature stories just like this for their viewers/listeners. They are always lookin' for some good informational...

The abundance is slowly killing my drive

    MINDSET RANT
Every American should be shipped overseas in high school or college for a short period of time for study/work abroad, or at least strongly encouraged to do so. The special thing we have here goes unappreciated by most. Being away for awhile gives a new perspective. We'd be a much better...

Lex DeVille's: How to Make $1,000 a Week with no Degree, no Feedback, & no Portfolio.

    GOLD! SIDE HUSTLE
Nice thread! A common big mistake (opportunity) I always see is people trying to sell customers features and tools, rather than benefits. Customers don't care about the tools you/they use, or the features, but rather the benefits/results it gives them. How successful would a home builder...

    OFF-TOPIC
Thx, this is a great point, i'll make an effort to raise my laptop a bit higher and utilize eye level screens while at my desk. I'll also check into a standing desk. Just got a killer new office suite too! I"m guessing there might be a desk top adjustable work surface/computer/screen stand...

    Are forums dead?

Starting a forum must be like the first person to get a fax machine. I find great value in them for a few topics of interest. Smart moderation is important to keep them from getting spammed and diluted with moronism. I'll probably be starting one in the near future for a niche product...
