    How did you discipline yourself?

    MINDSET
Have a reason to why you do things. Do things that have measurable results.

    What is your reading setup?

    MINDSET
Call me old fashioned, but I like paper books. When I'm trying to retain information I'm reading. I do a few things. First - I read the chapter or document I'm seeking to gain information from. Second - I reread the chapter, or information and take notes by hand on a legal pad. I'll summarize...

How To Be A Successful Businessman – 50 Rules Of Entrepreneurship Only The Rich And Ruthless

    EXECUTION
Successful people are absolutely focused, nobody is disagreeing. It's the negative connotation this article puts on having a family, friends which I cannot disagree with more. It's just not true. If you can't handle it thats on you. Hanging out with friends doesn't mean getting hammered or...

How To Be A Successful Businessman – 50 Rules Of Entrepreneurship Only The Rich And Ruthless

    EXECUTION
The first one -- "There’s only work – life – choices. All of which have consequences. Birthdays, holidays anniversaries, etc. are for poor people." LOL what a load of shit. Number 2 is a lie as well. I feel bad for the people who are not successful and take this as gospel. You can't get those...

Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
Sure I see your point if you're learning to code to launch an application you have the idea for now. Totally agree - hire someone. But are you also saying because something takes more than 6-12 months to learn and is a hard skill to master to just not do it? That I totally disagree with. I...

Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
I've been enjoying coding for the past two months. I outsourced the work for my app to a developer. Now I can get on github and understand his work. I can't build it yet but it makes sense. Ruby on Rails hasn't been that hard to pick up. I'm no where near a pro but every week I'm better...

    Coincidence?

    MINDSET
This made me cringe. Would not go. I would've actually enjoyed chatting with this guy to pry into his bull shit and call him on it.

Should I pay off all my debt?

    HOT! MINDSET
Im in a similar boat with student loan debt hanging over my head. You have more investments than me. Just wanted to chime in though regarding learning to code. With websites like code academy and udemy - if very internally motivated - it shouldn't take a huge investment to learn and become...

different ways to raise money for an app?

Hey man, I'll happily ask him when my project is completed if he is looking to take on more work, but with his full time job and limited hours I don't think he has time for another project currently. It'll be a few months before I am ready to release the MVP. I still need to find a designer to...

different ways to raise money for an app?

So I looked around for about 8 weeks interviewing developers off guru and upwork. I narrowed it down to two companies. One in India wanted $4800 and a US company $13k....I got discouraged with the company from India because of their lack of communication. They wanted the job bad but were often...

different ways to raise money for an app?

How many developers have you talked to? Sure maybe the full product takes 75-100k or more of work. You mention MVP....it shouldn't cost 75-100k or even close to develop an MVP and get going from there. It'll be easier to attract investment when you have a user base and data to make more...

How much sleep do you get?

    HEALTH
5-6 on weeknights. It is one of the worst things about my life that I am truly working to change. My cognitive abilities are so much better on a solid 7-8. I can't right now because of work and it sucks. Sure, I lose 2 hours, if I sleep more. 2 hours that I can be doing things....but if I can...

Pay my Rent through Ecommerce in 2016

    EXECUTION
Since I talked about getting a desk last year. I finally completed the work station. Obviously this isn't going to make or break my business, but coding has been more comfortable.

    That's all.

    MINDSET
I used to do stuff like this as a kid all the time. It was nice when my neighbors would buy things from me just because I was ten. I setup a sea food business one summer with a friend. We sold live crabs and clams to our neighbors going door to door with fliers and got phone calls. People...

Should You Share Your Business Idea?

    IDEA
I'm not worried about sharing ideas. I wouldn't share things like who I'm sourcing from, what my strategy is, details about the inner workings of the business, core differentiators from the competition etc. Also how easy is it to copy? Like said above about people here stealing ideas....is...

Will apple airpods be a big seller?

    HOT!
Not saying your machines do not work. Just saying the newer ones do perform better and it's not just screen size that makes the 7 considerably out perform the 4. To each there own though. Maybe a lot of the newer features are more conveniences than anything else, but I like those conveniences.
