    Fastlane or Unscripted? Which first?

    HOT!
I had the same thought when reading Unscripted.

    Fastlane or Unscripted? Which first?

    HOT!
I may be in the minority in saying that I liked TMFL more. That may be because I had much more business experience by the time I read UNS, and so the first one felt more useful to me. If asked I would say TMFL first, but read them both (no matter the order).

    Dream Car Talk

    OFF-TOPIC
Nice. I have never thought of AM much, until I walked by a dealership and saw them in person. EVERYONE walking by was stopping and staring. The Vanquish is one sexy beast. I think that their cars look better in person than in pics for some reason. I have always liked american muscle cars...

What was the most difficult thing you've had to learn or do for your business?

Everything related to HR. There are many things that can be hard about starting and running a business, but for me the most difficult thing is dealing with internal HR issues. Watching grown men and women fight like children, lying, stealing, sexual harassment, seeing people do shit that you...

As promised, here is my CENTS analysis: Control - The amount of control is very high. We control every service we offer. No franchise or affiliate work. We don't limit our self to one product or one supplier, so we are not affected by fluctuations in offerings or pricing from them. We have...

    Checking In

    INTRO
Thanks for the welcome. I will certainly try to share what I can. I like privacy, so I won't share exactly what field I am in or where I am located (but I am in the US). This is a very interesting board. I don't do most of what I see on here, and am excited to learn some new things. I don't...

    Checking In

    INTRO
Hi All, I have been on the board for a short time. I am never sure what to post as an intro, but I figured I should say something. So, a little about me: I have a business I started about 13 years ago. It is not really fastlane, but could be with some changes I am working on. I started...

    Eric from Erics Cheesecakes

    NOTABLE!
This thread has really grown. Sorry if this has already been said, I think I have read most of the replies. Active vs Passive, Positive vs Negative. You would be surprised at how many people speak and act in the passive/negative and don't even realise it. If you explain it to them, they will...

If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much." - Jim Rohn

Is opening a Coffee Shop a good idea ?

    HOT! IDEA
Sounds like you are pretty far along in the process, and have made up your mind. I wish you the best of luck. I don't know anything about owning a coffee shop or cafe, so I can't help you there. But, I have been to France multiple times, and will be there again. A few quick comments: -...

Dealing with daily pressure of sales being 50% down

    MINDSET
13 years. 13 years is not a fluke. 13 years is not an accident. 13 years in business is far better and far longer than most people in this world could do. I don't know anything about our business, so the best I can offer is: Laser focus. Laser focus on what it takes to correct this...

People or Processes: Which Comes First? (Facing Scaling Issues - Need Help)

#1 is what I would focus on first. You may find yourself even more insane if you start to bring people in before you really have those processes defined and documented. Those processes (and documentation) become the training and resources for anyone you bring on in the future. I have done...

Although this is from a work of fiction, the simple line says a lot: "Don’t dream the small dreams of other men"

In the meantime, cling tooth and nail to the following rule: not to give in to adversity, not to trust prosperity, and always take full note of fortune’s habit of behaving just as she pleases. —SENECA
