    Imminent Threat Survival

    NOTABLE!
What on earth was a debacle about it? The guy was shot and killed something like under two minutes after the attack began. A fire alarm had been pulled a few minutes before the attack and there were police already there. I'm not interested in getting into the gun control debate at all but none...

Bought a huge house with a 3 car garage and a pool!

    GOLD! MINDSET
Neighborhood, school district, and proximity to work are more important than any home amenities. People give up a lot, both in time and money, for that in ground pool or extra bedrooms (that never end up being used for anything), and I don't think it's usually worth it.

I come across everything from an SEO perspective. I need to rank, which means I need links. It's like selling, it's a hell of a lot easier if you are asking for links for something that is top notch and obviously well made. You can push the lazy content, but it's like pushing a boulder uphill.

Pokemon Go Game Discussion - Opportunities?

    HOT!
I'm not an expert on Nintendo as a company, or on video games for that matter, but I think the reason the stock jumped isn't just that Pokemon Go is doing well - it jumped on the assumption that Nintendo is going to start actually monetizing and using their IP (even if only in licensing deals...

Good luck replicating HuffPo - I wonder what their overhead is? Meanwhile, as a "little guy" you can definitely create content of the highest quality: - Most relevant - Most up to date - Most useful to the user - Best designed - Most comprehensive I would seriously try to dissuade anyone who...

    Rigged For The Rich?

    HOT!
Collectively funded by our tax dollars is all I mean. It seems obvious to me a healthy mix of capitalism and socialism (taking care of less fortunate, working towards having an educated, healthy citizenry, etc) is way to go. I think people buy into a narrative with capitalism that makes them...

    Rigged For The Rich?

The US military is a great example of socialism. I love capitalism. I'm a very successful capitalist. I just have my eyes open.

You have a good story, like many of us here on the forum I imagine. You should be proud for sure. I grew up blue collar and have a story too. I'm a realist, and there are things I listen to Chomsky on (and some I disagree with) and my income is in the top 1%. So, have to disagree with you...

A cool thing is that there are publicly traded companies doing what csalvato is talking about. QuinStreet is one. Awhile back I found a couple dozen of their sites. Some examples: Megabrands: http://www.schools.com/ http://www.insurance.com/ But also some smaller niche sites...

    How's the online jewelry business?

It's not a generic question - I don't know why you're getting rude responses. You need to do competitive research. Find out who the big dogs are in your niche online. Find their websites. Find out who is doing well on Amazon and Etsy and eBay. See what they are doing well. Find out what they...

It does depend on topic. I have had sites in the 250k-500k page views per month range make six figures a month. And it takes a long time. Whenever I start a site I assume it will lose money for a year (I don't do anything except direct workflow and marketing, so there are costs for writing and...

    Rigged For The Rich?

    HOT!
This is the best post in the thread. It's basically my life philosophy. You play the board as it's laid out. There's no point in complaining about the board unless you're going to devote your life to changing it (and have a real shot at doing so, which is arguable with Chomsky.) That doesn't...

    Rigged For The Rich?

    HOT!
Yeah, that's a really gross misrepresentation of Springsteen. Moore too actually (he got rich by making documentaries people wanted to pay money to see - there was a market and he filled it, just like we all preach here), but even more so Springsteen. Springsteen might be the hardest working...
