Building a video games business from scratch

    EXECUTION
I do both, really depends on the project. Right now I am working on a couple of games for myself but also a non-game app with my partner that serves a different market. The non-game has much larger potential but the games can still be really strong earners, 5 to 6 figures a month with a publisher.

Building a video games business from scratch

    EXECUTION
It's not to say indie's can't have success but it extremely hard today. Most of those games from the top charts are big companies or publishing companies. The great thing about publishing companies is it gives the indie dev a chance. There are a handlful of really good publishing companies out...

Building a video games business from scratch

    EXECUTION
I'll be honest, didn't read the entire thread but I read the main post and a few of your comments. I've been in the mobile app game business for like 6 years now so my thoughts are based on if you want to focus on the mobile market mostly. I'm not sure how the PC/console markets will work with...

I shed myself of my dead weight "friends"

    PEOPLE
From my experience, bars, golf courses/country clubs, car shows, cigar lounges, etc. It depends on what you're looking to do. If you want to try and do "a deal" with someone, maybe those meetups work if you can find the right one? I've never had any luck, and not many people I know go to them...

I shed myself of my dead weight "friends"

    PEOPLE
Personally, I find that stuff to be a waste of time. You get a bunch of "business professionals" who are all "networking". The problem is no one is really genuine. Everyone is in it for themselves, they are trying to marketing themselves and sure, meet new people... in hopes of getting referrals...

I'm 31 years old with $5 in my account

    RANT
I was once in a similar situation. A few years back I was living on my own, trying to make it in real estate. I had my app business on the side but it wasn't paying all the bills (income of like $1200 a month, maybe). I was $40k in credit card debt and slowly going through my savings. One night...

I shed myself of my dead weight "friends"

    PEOPLE
I moved across the country, met up with an entrepreneur and started fresh. Ditched the "dead weight" of friends I had where I grew up. Nice people, just not what I wanted to be, or who I wanted to be around. Mostly hung out with him and one other person. Through him, I met several other very...

Sub'd. This seems like a very popular business. Too bad you weren't coming to Houston next weekend, I would have introduced you to me friend, he has had a contract for the past year as a CEO of a concierge service. Our age too, 21. I know another kid on Facebook that started his own concierge...

Who doesn't like Ari Gold? I also like his AP. For those who can't read the quote, I know its small, it says "We're going to hell, so bring your sunblock."

I Have Decided That I'm Moving...

    HOT! MINDSET
I had visited Houston before I moved, figured I'd go there first. Then said no and looked at Dallas, quickly crossed that off. Everyone I talked to knew of somoene who moved to Austin and loved it, so I looked here. Made a trip down, immediately fell it love. I like how its central, Dallas is 3...

I Have Decided That I'm Moving...

    HOT! MINDSET
Started there because that is just where the founders happen to be, but they aren't staying there. Many businesses are leaving Cali for states like Texas. Where businesses are started is a bad representation of a business friendly state, look at where they move to. I recently moved to Texas...

Amazon seller account suspended, any tips?

For the most part this works but I believe Amazon added the need for a credit card after I found this info. I tried to do it a few months back again and Amazon shut me down after a few thinks and I think it was because of a CC. I had this saved from an article I found 2 or 3 years ago.

    Running out of cash.

I could try again. I've contacted them before and they were firm about "closed accounts stay closed." Maybe a different person would give me a favorable answer.
