[AMA] Importing & wholesaling for resale on eBay.

    GOLD! SOURCING
So, what are you using if not Alibaba, if you don't mind me asking? I'm only familiar with DHgate, Alibaba, and AliExpress.

Like the first reply, there is really nothing set in stone in terms of price or MOQ, especially when dealing on Alibaba versus DHgate. Ultimately, they are trying to get the sale, so for the most part they are willing to work with you to make the transaction happen. I ended up using DHgate for...

[AMA] Importing & wholesaling for resale on eBay.

    GOLD! SOURCING
That's great! I have a few questions: 1) what website builder are you using for your online store? 2) are you taking your own product pictures or using supplier photos? and 3) do you have a blog or anything that incorporates SEO and keywords, other than the product description page, to drive...

[AMA] Importing & wholesaling for resale on eBay.

    GOLD! SOURCING
Would you say that this is still a viable business model for someone to pursue without already having an established customer base? I've been following this thread for about a year and during that time I successfully managed to import and sell a couple of products for a decent profit, but those...

Are these all non-branded items that you've been able to come across? I was finding a number of products with great margins, but that was before realizing that those were largely knock offs and running into issues with eBay's VERO policy. Now that I'm looking for non-branded items, I'm at a...

[AMA] Importing & wholesaling for resale on eBay.

My biggest problem is finding items to sell that are not branded. I unknowingly purchased counterfeit items from DHGate only to have them booted off of eBay for trademark violations. Now I cannot seem to find anything to sell that doesn't carry the same risk.

Thanks for the reply! I actually had opened up a second account a few weeks ago in order to separate my main niche from other items and the selling limit for that account is 500 items or $25,000 per month, go figure. Clearly they have an odd formula for determining selling limits.

How easy is it to get your selling limits raised from 100 items? I know it says to call them, but are they likely to increase it? I have an order of 200 units coming this week, however I just realized my selling limit is only at 100 items or $5,000, whichever I hit first. Thank you in...

Thinking about taking the plunge into self-publishing

    PUBLISHING
That's exactly why I posted this thread. It's rare that I start a thread of my own, since most topics and questions have been covered in-depth (i.e. use the search function) and I'm not going to waste anyones time by neglecting to do my own research. I've just found that, like you said, much...

Thinking about taking the plunge into self-publishing

    PUBLISHING
Thanks for the input! This is basically the information I was looking for. When reading the many success posts regarding self-publishing, including the process threads, it's difficult to determine what is and is not realistic. Throughout the self-publishing threads, many make it appear to...

Thinking about taking the plunge into self-publishing

    PUBLISHING
For right now, my main goal would be using self-publishing as a source of income that would enable me to pursue other sources of income. I enjoy writing, but would only take the time to do it myself if it proved to be worthwhile from a financial standpoint. I'm definitely not pursuing...

Thinking about taking the plunge into self-publishing

    PUBLISHING
Greetings everyone, Thank you in advanced for any input! Due to the length of the post, I've bolded the main point/question. After reading thread after thread on the self-publishing process, as well as many threads in which people claim to have had success through such means, I am...

At what point do you pursue a different niche?

    WEB/DIGITAL
Thanks for your input! One thing that has come to my attention is that many people have claimed to have conversion issues using Shopify, which is what I'm currently using. So, I'm wondering if switching to a different eCommerce site would prove to be worthwhile.

At what point do you pursue a different niche?

    WEB/DIGITAL
Question: At what point, based on conversion rates, do you decide that it's time to pursue a different niche? My eCommerce store has been up and running for about a week now. Thus far, I have been able to draw in some traffic via SEO methods and Facebook/Google PPC ad campaigns. I am far...
