U.S. Economy Could Recover Sooner Than Expected

From the article: I have read this recently in other sources as well. There were some recent economic indicators released such as an increase in retail sales, but still poor job numbers. The suggestion from the other source I read this from (can't remember where) was that the economy has...

GNMA Investments - Alternative to Money Funds

    INVESTING
For your first question, a lower maturity means that there will be a higher recurring payment from the borrower (since they have a shorter amount of time to pay off the loan, they will have to pay in greater increments). If they are paying larger payments, the likelihood that they will default...

    Unexplainable? Or Undeniable?

    MINDSET
I don't think there HAS to be religious implications of this practice. I believe that someone genuine and authentic is generally more attractive (in a likable kind of way). People often show restraint and are more careful when they are suspicious of someone's intentions, but if one shows they...

The Safety of the Business of Subprime Consumer Lending

They'd have to. Since the "Nominal" Interest rate would have to compensate for the rate of inflation (Nominal Interest Rate = Real Interest Rate + Inflation), the rate would have to go up.

    Segway + GM = ?

    OFF-TOPIC
Lol, pretty funny looking, but I'm glad to see GM is looking outside of the box a little and thinking of smaller and more fuel efficient alternatives.

    Hello From New Jersey

@Scott To answer your first question, my favorite books include: 4 Hour Workweek; Read, Fire, Aim; The Art of Learning and Winning. You mentioned a lot of books I either have (and are about to read) or am very interested in picking up. Generally, I'm mostly interested in stocks and maybe a...

The Safety of the Business of Subprime Consumer Lending

Its really difficult to say. And in many ways, I'd say this type of business will have severe profit and loss swings depending on the economic environment. So to that end, yes it is risky. On the other hand, if you can find a good enough hedge to this kind of risk, this business can be safer...

That's a great point. It's not just useful from a marketing standpoint, but for maintaining a certain culture. That does indeed make a lot of sense. :groove:

    Google April Fools Day Pranks

    WEB/DIGITAL
I can absolutely see how effective something like this can be in almost every case, and I don't disagree with you at all. My thinking is that everyone knows or is talking about Google anyway. It seems they release a new product or a product enhancement every single day, so they are constantly...

Why is the stock market surging?

    INVESTING
Interesting. Out of curiosity, has the dollar devalued this time though? To answer the original question, I think in part, it really is this "magic of confidence". The market is largely emotional, so some of the upward moves can be general optimism. I have noticed a LOT more customers...
