Don’t Learn to Code. Think Like a Technostacker Instead.

    GOLD! - AI -
That's a good way to summarise it. Funny enough, the same approach we use at management level (and entrepreneurial as well) - if we can "read" people well, if we can estimate/measure outcome of their work avoiding pitfalls where they exploit our insecurities via bootlicking, politicking and...

Don’t Learn to Code. Think Like a Technostacker Instead.

    GOLD! - AI -
Some of my team members try to do side projects with "AI" in areas where they lack knowledge. So far it has been unsuccessful in 100 out of 100. I would suggest not "foundational code knowledge" but foundational knowledge is necessary. The real life example I personally like is say, if you...

Don’t Learn to Code. Think Like a Technostacker Instead.

    GOLD! - AI -
That's exactly the point I wanted to make, but @cYn made it way better I could possibly do. There is also irrational excitement based on thinking the current AI tools are "empowering". While it true it does help to optimise mundane tasks, it's not an "intelligence" but a good statistical model...

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Random Chat Thread...

    - AI -
While AI in film making is undeniable (and it's share in processing will grow), I respectfully disagree on the second part. One thing is producing garbage like Fast and Furious (hope not to offend anyone) - you don't need anything except AI for it as it lacks deep idea, and totally another...

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Random Chat Thread...

Wonder how did you reach the conclusion. As far as my knowledge takes me, it's nowhere near (although it heavily depends on how we define the average driver). We are incapable of making self driven trains (which operate in way more predictable environment compared to cars) for many years...

While I would still stick to my opinion on that, you have excellent point here. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, that's correct. Our life/health is our most precious assets so I don't see a reason for compromise. Everything that wouldn't fall under law of diminishing returns would fit.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Random Chat Thread...

    - AI -
While I do agree it is not necessary on some applications, real life applications usually require quite predictable and reliable one. Would you fly on a plane flown by "not the very best possible AI"? Driven by a car where the "AI" is "not the best out there"? Eat food made by not the very best...

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Random Chat Thread...

    - AI -
Not sure if I am following you. Its hard to speculate right now how it will (if it will) evolve. The key points are: 1. There is no way to thoroughly test the "AI" output. Its unlikely for this way to appear anytime soon. 2. Hence, any real world application of that is unpredictable and any...

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Random Chat Thread...

    - AI -
That's exactly the reason why all that LLM stuff wont find any practical application in real world (think automotive, logistics, etc). At this point in time it is simply no way to check outcome correctness under all permutations of incoming variables. Rock solid software and hardware...

@MJ DeMarco wondering if you have tried Hemingway Editor for that purpose. Less intrusive, more hinting, I would suggest it helps to master writing skills rather than rewrite your texts. Not affilated with it, the link can easily be found online, if interested.

Let me share some insights. I have reached out to Bobby and his team in 2023. Since then his team was nothing short of amazing. The service UI has rough edges but support team makes everything smooth. That's the beauty of working with small businesses - they don't treat you as account number...

ChatGPT AI is a huge breakthrough, a Google killer

    - AI -
Main question is whether there is a system with reasonably quality / coverage NOT patronized by NSA or other three letter agency? Would be extremely surprised if there is, excluding systems that are intentionally designed to avoid tinkering with output. Rest assured though, the same three letter...

ChatGPT AI is a huge breakthrough, a Google killer

    - AI -
Beg to disagree. ChatGPT is actually making people dumber. Especially dumb people feeling like they are smart. I am seeing this effect more often than not. Smart people can use to to save some time and avoid mundane tasks. Will that make then smarter? No way. More efficient? Quite probably.

ChatGPT AI is a huge breakthrough, a Google killer

    - AI -
And shittier as well (or shall I put more human-like? :)) Noted it has been making up things out of thin air more and more. Likely this has been done deliberately. I use it to simplify things where I know part of the output, and it's been like talking to my ex-gf lately - whenever you ask...
