Needs to be said... sell the DAMN motorcycle.

    HOT! RANT
Here to leave my anecdotes. One time I was a passenger in a car on the freeway and on the other side saw some guy fly like 20-30 feet in the air. We heard on the news that he was riding a motorcycle and killed instantly. Another time I was on the sidewalk and some motorcyclist was turning...

The Secret/Law Of Attraction. Anyone believe in it?

    RANT
I consider it to be complete bunk due to a lack of evidence and it just doesn't make sense.

How to NOT get screwed over thread.

    PEOPLE
95% of people will open a business and fail or barely break even. That leaves you with 5% of decent business partners who know what the hell they are doing. If you bring on two other business partners on average I would expect a 0.0025% chance (or 1 out of 400) of having two decent ones. Heck...

Moved From WP To Hardcore Coding

    MINDSET
Moving from WP to scratch would be a complete waste of time. WP has it's issues but it's solid from a security standpoint and has so many functions that might be needed. Outsource it if you want the end product to be crap or get ripped off. Lots of devs also put in backdoors to make sure they...

Registration or Sales Tax for Selling to European Market

    TAXES | REGS
Just because you don't have a physical presence in the US doesn't mean that you don't have a nexus. This is because Bellas Hess and Quill where both tossed out of the Supreme court in 2018. You can definitely have an economic nexus in the US. Subscriptions or software might need to be charged...

Supreme Court: Online shoppers can be forced to pay sales tax

    TAXES | REGS FEATURED!
Colorado will be implementing their out-of-state sales tax on December 1st, 2018. What makes them different than other states is that they have what's called home rule municipalities. Meaning that municipalities can have their own sales tax license, rates, and rules. There's 271 of them and...

    business idea (Aluminum cans)

    IDEA
Horrible idea. I knew it was horrible in about two seconds. 1,000 businesses x 52 weeks (1 pickup a week) = 52,000 trips for 150,000 revenue. It won't be enough to even pay for transportation costs and even if you spend eight hours a day driving to each location you wouldn't be fast enough...

Can I live off of interest on $100 Million for life?

    HOT! MINDSET
Many days and you still haven't found the answer? You're 27! Of course you can't deduct the inflation rate! Capital gains also deals with selling securities such as stocks. It has nothing to do with dividends or interest.

Supreme Court: Online shoppers can be forced to pay sales tax

    TAXES | REGS FEATURED!
You can't pay or file NJ sales tax without registering with the New Jersey Department of Revenue. You can't register with the New Jersey Department of Revenue without an NJ entity ID. Registering with the dept. of revenue alone by statute causes a corporate franchise in the state to exist. A...

Supreme Court: Online shoppers can be forced to pay sales tax

    TAXES | REGS FEATURED!
The solution is to start registering in states where you need to register. Coming up Oct 1st 2018 many states are enacting their remote sellers sales tax laws. New Jersey apparently requires foreign registration with the secretary of state to remit sales tax...

Article 13, EU "end of the internet"

    HOT!
The EU and other governments will keep passing regulations until the internet is heavily regulated and restricted. The internet worked fine before all this regulation. Why do governments need to ruin it? If you think regulation like this won't effect you because you're not in the EU then...

    Has Amazon become a monopoly?

    HOT!
They are soon to be a monopoly. Amazon is expected to soon have 50% of all online retail in the US. I only see that increasing as they implement autonomous vehicles. Wal-Mart, Target, and everyone else still don't offer one day/same day delivery even though they could. In the far future I...

https://www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/17/17-494/37674/20180305153329994_17-494 Amici Brief States PDFA.pdf 41 states signed in favor of the decision (on page 27-30). Why would so many sign on to it? If it's not going to happen why are legislators everywhere passing bills for remote sellers...

Supreme Court: Online shoppers can be forced to pay sales tax

    TAXES | REGS FEATURED!
There's no way the court is going to overturn this. Even the dissenting opinion (Roberts) said that Bellas Hess was wrongly decided. The Supreme Court gets 10,000 court cases a year and only accepts 80 of them. We would be lucky if an issue regarding sales tax makes it in the next 20 years...

Supreme Court: Online shoppers can be forced to pay sales tax

    TAXES | REGS FEATURED!
That map is outdated since it's from a year ago before Wayfair and doesn't even mention all of the requirements for each nexus. Here is a an old map for sales tax on software. Sales tax on software: a visual guide by state - Avalara I just found out Iowa is going to implement a one transaction...
