    Typically, the agent would be paid a commission based on a percentage of the annual rent of the apartment they helped me find, paid by the landlord. So I wouldn't be liable for a fee either way.

In the time since I last posted in this thread, I narrowed my search down to 9 options, and I'm trying to narrow it further so I can go out and look at these units...
