Hi Fastlane Forum, I'm an art photographer: I create photographs to sell through galleries as artwork and I also photograph artwork in high-resolution so that artists can make high-quality prints of their paintings. I've allowed myself to struggle for the past four years, misplacing my time into bad coping mechanisms and expensive vices, experiencing painful social anxiety while trusting the wrong people, all while spending more than I make (which isn't much right now! Less than $20k a year on average) because I was more invested in distracting myself from painful events than I was invested in working to build the potential of my business into reality. After the ending of a timesink of a three-year off-and-on relationship, I've found myself with all the time I need to take my work and myself more seriously. First of all, I'm thankful for this forum. I found it when I realized I might be able to start a product photography business, so I began searching for information on building a product photography business and found this thread. Soon after I began googling terms like "fastlane forum photography," and "fastlane forum artist," and I found so much good information thanks to this community. I'm most of the way through Unscripted and a lot of the ideas reflect how I want to build my business, but didn't have the confidence to attempt seriously, until reading through the book and realizing I might just have that artrepreneurial mindset. I do have a productocracy in mind, and most of what would constitute a plan, and would love to receive the wonderful and wise feedback this community has to offer. I know this isn't super fastlane, but I would be very happy making more than $50K a year, with the potential to make more. Which forum would be the right place to post such a thing?
