Owning something that gives me the option to not have to set an alarm clock and get up when I please is something that started back in middle school. If I had to guess it may have started before that.

Back I guess before I was 5 I played a video game (Age of Empires II) that involved managing an economy and building up to be the competition. Now that just maybe BS to where the feeling started, but I enjoyed seeing how far I could grow and many other games that I played were similar in respects to building things up.

I want to say I got a taste for being independent of a boss (sort of) when I was brought along to help my father cut grass on the side of his job. Now at the time it was not much in terms of locations, but throughout the years I have tacked on a few more places and enjoyed the independence.

While I enjoyed the independence that it brought as well as working for the local bread guy (who was very flexible and payed well for such a short time), the idea of trying to get someone to take my place and take a percentage from his or her earnings fascinated me. I tried several times to get people to do it, but due to the fact these jobs were outside the norm, which during college worked like a charm, it kept others from actually doing it. I would call them odd jobs more than anything real and yet they payed better than a 40 hour minimum wage job in half the time.

I use to think owning a business was more of a fantasy, nothing but a dream within a dream where I could trade cars like I change my running shoes. The "regurgitated crap" that Mr. Demarco points out got a little old reading and rereading. I am glad to have found both his books and having had read them. While others may roll their eyes or laugh from the title the old say "don't judge a book by its cover" is extremely true in this case.

Today I look back at my 4 years of college and I see two sides to this degree. 1: I probably will never fully use it as I did not know what to major in at the time and 2: going to college allowed me to get a better taste of the pleasures that follow self-employment where only my clients/customers were my bosses. It is an exhilarating feeling to finish at the end of the day and know that the check you receive is all for YOU. Be better if it skipped my physical presence needing to be there to do the work, but ya know its a start.

As of this little description of myself it is September 20th 2018. Today before I go back to indentured slavery I will order a bluetooth speaker and possibly a regular speaker so I can better learn how things work for my vision. This education is a heck of a lot cheaper than any college and when I can figure out how to make a full prototype I will see what the market thinks. Chances are I will take Demarco's advice and create a surverymonkey questionnaire to see if people like the idea before going too far with it. So far those that I have told like the idea, although "liking" and "buying" are two different actions. I like those iced-coffees at Panera Bread, but I personally do not buy them for myself. Hope and plan to keep this updated as the projects progress and if ALL else fails I will likely do real estate as a primary instead of one route of income. Keep the ideas flowing and keep learning
