Eventually, yes, absolutely.

The caveat though is that I'd want to review the science behind it first and foremost, I'd want to see how the 'early adopters' react to it, and I'd want to see how the infection rate changes with vaccination in various communities.

I'm extremely pro-vaccine, but I'm also not in a hurry to get jabbed with medicine that was produced at historically breathtaking speeds either.

Like anything, let's see what the science says. Not facebook "experts", not wellness or holistic "professionals", not some discredited doctor with a tell-all book, not the news media, but ACTUAL scientists.

I’m personally in no hurry to get the vaccine, probably never will. I think a lot of this could have just been handled with common sense(cleanliness), no lockdowns necessary. Wait after the November election and all of a sudden you’ll see a lot of this “fear” go away.

But this whole COVID drama definitely put the pedal to the metal on this whole new world order shit. Digital dollars, digital health passports, Bio-chips in people etc. At this point no economic or political elitists can be trusted.

No way it's mandatory in the USA. Likely to be mandatory in a socialist country like Australia or Sweden.

I hate to break it to you, but Australia has more economic freedoms than America, and this is proven.

Australia definitely has its issues but comparing it to the United States in the manner you have is just misleading.

Yes, I will, provided I read the studies showing its effectiveness and safety first. They're testing the stuff on 30,000 people prior to final approval. That's enough of a sample for me to be satisfied that they've found most of the likely issues with the thing.

I run my life based on probabilities for stuff like this. if something is less than 1:10,000 chance, I deliberately decide not to worry about it. I especially decide not to worry about 1:1,000,000 chance things, the kind of thing that grips news reporters, sending them into hysteria. (Accidental shootings: 1:1,000,000; kids getting kidnapped by a stranger: 1:1,000,000, etc.)

If there is 1:30,000 chace I might have a bad reaction to the vaccine, I judge that as a better risk than a 1:500 chance of death if I get the disease at my age, and will get the vaccine. Death is a far worse consequence than the likely side effects of the vaccine. Beyond the risk of death, there are the longer term effects of the disease itself. I know someone my age (mid 40s) that will likely have permanent health consequences from the thing. This ain't no standard flu. The risk of serious longer term consequences is a few percent. That's big enough for me to sit up and take notice.

100%. I just want this thing overwith. I'm not one of those who believes they know more than the epidemiologists. If it allows me to travel again, and it gets this thing under control, I'm happy to be a guinea pig.

Plus, I don't want the disease.

But I absolutely DO NOT want the government telling me I HAVE to take it. That's where I draw the line.

If you do your research, you won't even THINK about getting it or not, you just won't. There can't be a vaccine for cold (coronavirus), you'd have to make a new vaccine every year, and if they're enforced, welcome to medical fascism. It has nothing remotely to do with the virus. Never had a vaccine and never will, cause as someone mentioned, we all have a thing called immunity. This is definitely the scam of the century as far as fear mongering goes.

Just sayin', I don't think all of the vaccines in development (if any) is starting using a drug made from scratch. Several are experimenting with drugs that have helped with the previous SARS and MERS, and even Ebola, like Remdesivir. Those drugs have a bit more of a resume and we know more about them. The DNA ones are more of a new thing.

Every medicine, vaccine, treatment, surgery, has side effects. We accept them because we know that the benefits are greater than the risks. I mean have you seen the side effects of birth control? Any medicine ad on tv/magazines listing possible side effects? Hell, people smoke cigarettes. Do I need to list the ingredients, or the more-than-likely effects on your body? Just put one next to the other one and like, it just doesn't make much sense to be scared, unless you're one of those nut jobs that thinks Bill Gates is out to nanochip us with 5G, because we're so important.

I'm sure it's still easier to get in a car crash.

The opinions expressed on this thread frustrate me. I respect all of you, but I don't think you're looking at this correctly. I'm going to say my peace, and let it stand as-is. I won't respond to comments. (I'm afraid if I do this will devolve into bad blood, which I don't want)

Also, I'm a little snarky in what I wrote below, so ... be prepared for that. I'm not trying to offend. I'm trying to get your attention and get you to think about things from a different perspective.

The attitudes that are anti-vaccine here seem to be: "A controlling big government is evil" "This thing was rushed, therefore its bad" "I have my freedom and am going to exercise it" "This virus isn't a big deal"

Let's take each one:

"A controlling big government is evil"

I agree. However, so what. A broken clock is right twice a day. If wearing masks is a good thing, its a good thing even if daddy makes you.

"This thing was rushed, therefore its bad"
No, it wasn't. Companies have been working on getting faster at vaccines for years. There is a TON of technology being brought to bear on this that has been in the works for a long time. Beyond that, the actual vaccines that are in development were actually developed many months ago. They have been in testing since then. Testing with actual human subjects: 30,000 of them per vaccine. I challenge you to read the studies when they're published. If they find that people die or sprout a third arm during the study, they'll say so. (And the FDA won't let the vaccine go into production). The kinds of side effects you can expect from a vaccine that passes a test with 30,000 people are minimal.

"But what about side effects that aren't caught during this test?" That means that there is a less than 1:30,000 chance you'll experience the side effect. You have about the same odds of dying in a car accident this year. I'm assuming you still drive...

"How do I know they're being truthful in reporting the correct statistics?" These things are public record. People will be looking for problems like this. Imagine being a reporter that finds the coverup? It would make your career. People are highly incentivised to dig into the details.

"I have my freedom and am going to exercise it"
Ok, but its still a bad decision. This virus isn't kind to a certain set of people. Read the studies of people who have long term side effects from this thing. They aren't fun. "But the death rate is 1/10th what they are saying." We all know that. Even at 10%, this thing isn't fun, and for elderly people, this thing is really not fun. Check out the statistics on polio. They're not too dissimilar to the statistics from covid. Pinkbook | Polio | Epidemiology of Vaccine Preventable Diseases | CDC

"This virus isn't a big deal"
Is it ebola? No, its not. But, its considerably worse than the flu for a significant number of people. If you didn't check out the link that talks about polio, go check it out. Very few people that caught the polio virus experienced the devastating effects of it. Most, something like 75% were asymptomatic. But, for a small percentage, it was quite terrible. Just like covid-19.

"But I'm young and not likely to die."
So why not take the vaccine and help someone older not die.

"Aren't you just parroting media hysteria?"
I loathe the media. They disgust me. Truly. Reporters in general are vile, self-serving hypocrites. I've personally seen them take an event and twist what happened to the point that it was barely recognizable. And, this was on something innocuous. Imagine what they do to things that actually matter.

Science, however, is a different story. I'm not talking the science of the media with its grand, god-like pronouncements. I'm talking the messy, "here's my data, show me where I'm wrong" kind of science that admits when it doesn't know something, and tries to prove itself wrong. Science is honing in on this virus. There are now a lot of studies that have been published, and the picture it paints is of a virus that is not kind to millions of people.

Beyond all this, you're not going to change the overall public sentiment that causes the governments of the world to shut things down. We need herd immunity if only to make things go back to normal. Take the vaccine and help us end the economic devastation this thing has produced.

Where did you get that from???
The CIA also killed every bird in the US and replaced them with surveillance drones, even the Bald Eagles.

Ever notice you see a lot of birds sitting on telephone poles? That's how they charge.

Im pretty pissed, my local grocery store just made masks mandatory to enter the store.

I don't care if I get sick, (been sick twice this year) Which leads me to wonder, how long will this little Chinese flu mask rule stay? 3 months? 1 year? Indefinitely?

I doubt it’ll be mandatory, when has a vaccine ever been mandatory (curious)?

Trials seem to be promising so far, if even a fraction of the population took it, it could slow down the spread immensely.

I won’t be the first to take it, but I’ll wait a little bit before I do. I don’t want to get COVID again

When I was growing up, they gave us the vaccines in the school. Or we couldn't go to school.

"All 50 states in the U.S. mandate immunizations for children in order to enroll in public school, but the specific vaccines required differ from state to state and various exemptions are available depending on the state. All states have exemptions..."

Australians literally can't even leave their country right now and are only allowed 1HR of outdoor activity per day for exercise, from what I'm hearing. And it sounds like Australians' other freedoms like entering shopping malls and restaurants will be restricted if they refuse vaccination - View: https://twitter.com/ezralevant/status/1296060336546643970?s=20
.

Meanwhile Americans can legally purchase and own multiple assault rifles just for fun, and go about their business as they please. I don't think there is any comparison at all to be made.

Blocked for being wrong on every single point.

*7.000.000 deaths a year from Tabacco... "Meh, you got to die of something. "

1.000.000 deaths (just 6% of those from Covid alone and not 2+ other disease) from Covid19. "Don't hug your grandma or you could kill her. Safe sex is with a facemask. Children in plastic bubles its ok. Big Pharma loves you. Get your mandatory vaccine and your immunity passport now" .

* Tabacco numbers from the CDC here:

If I take into account the age group I'm falling into and the CDC's statement in regards to comorbidies ("For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned."), then it's perfectly clear to me that I would more likely die in a plane crash than die from covid. If other people want to voluntarily finance this racket, all power to them, for me it's enough to involuntarily finance this greatest heist in history through future tax payments.

Kinda funny how the government is so concerned about all these deaths, yet nothing is done about smoking.

Oh wait they are raking in millions

Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day. On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.Mar 23, 2020

Speaking of job security, I am a front line health worker these days. I will get the jab because I’ve had every other jab, including the flu shot, every year. It will be a job requirement.

I wear a mask around the elderly. I don’t get up near anyone in the supermarket or anywhere in public. I always used sanitizer, even before Covid. If a store asked me to wear a mask for the safety of its employees, I would. In peak Covid I wore a mask to the supermarket.

Several different Covid vaccines have been at human trial phase in my state (in Australia) since original lockdown in April. No one has dropped dead or lost mind or limb yet.

On Australia: I am free. No lockdown. I can surf every day if I so desire without time limit. Mass gatherings are still limited in size because of the hot spots. Only one state where dumb people did dumb things is in full lockdown, and if they just calm their tits for 5 minutes it will be over and they will also be back outside to wrangle sharks and snakes like the rest of us.

This virus polarizes people. For us, the job has been made harder because of stupid people. But then stupid people give me the job security I need to work on creative projects. So take vax or don’t. My friends and I will be seeing you either way and we will still be nice to your face whether you deserve it or not.

Maybe USA, inc. plans to cash flow the national debt by selling vaccines or rights to use the vaccine to other countries? Either way, this is way too suspect for me. Lots of weird government power overreaches in 2020.
edit: from BOTH parties.

I've been sick a couple times this year, at a 3% death rate, I'll take my chances

I don't smoke or drink, live a semi healthy lifestyle......gonna take my chances on this one :praise:

More worried about the bears around my house (which I see crawling around at night) even then I think dying in a bear attack is fairly slim....probably more likely to be killed by a drunk driver or getting swallowed by an orca while out in my mini yacht.

Except tobacco use won’t kill you in the span of a few weeks.

Why are you like this?
This covid19 "thing" is much less likely to kill you than tobacco. Don't watch mass media, they're full of shit and they're paid for by the few big shots who invented the fear mongering. It's nothing but a show in order for you to accept their "new order", "new normal" "new enslavement". Don't fall for the BS.
