Where is the legal line for selling a strategy for tapering off drugs?

I created a website that offers advice about tapering off a legal drug that has not been approved by the FDA.

The idea is to sell kits that contain not only instructions but all the tools necessary to measure and store doses to help people taper down their dose and eventually quit without experiencing withdrawals.

Stripe turned me down for payment processing because they won't touch anything that isn't approved by the FDA.

I don't actually sell the drug, only educational materials on how to taper down one's dose.

My question is this: Is it enough to include a disclaimer that says the materials being sold are for educational purposes only and not medical advice?

I know I can find a payment processor outside the US but I want to make sure I can't be liable for any damages.

I've talked to a lawyer, councilors, and addiction specialists and nobody has an answer. I thought someone here might have an answer or at least be able to point me towards someone who would.

While I cannot give you legal advice, from my experience in this area (recovering addict, been to rehab) is that it is a slippery slope. The whole problems with credit card processors will always be a battle. Supplement companies fight this fight by running their payment systems through other companies. Then, the processors find out and they cannot accept credits cards until they find another company to run them through>

I know one business owner that used Paypal and because he bought something from someone who got banned, they froze his account with over $5k in it due to this connection. He sold them completely unrelated materials for their business. He had to take them to court to get the money.

Also, this area is probably best left for medical professionals or make sure you have the backing of medical professionals that can back your product through testimonials.
