And that’s what motivates you to find reasons to discard his success. That’s BS man, and it’s paradoxically the reason you’re not successful... because you think you need a rich father. There are quite a few sources on the internet saying that his father owned an emerald mine in Zambia, which he declines because its linked to apartheid, so you take that however you want. Besides that, his dad supposedly had a successful engineering business, and was a millionaire before the age 30. I don't really have many any sources at hand, but here's an article you can read: errol_musk (btw I don't know how reliable these sources are)
He might also have developed a bit of an ego
Looks to be political. E donated to GOP
I'm just pointing out the irony that, "What if Elon visited" has been used to shut down some other threads here.
some other viewpoint FYI lol

Welp, even if the madness puts Musk on the deep end, he still has accomplished way more than most folks.Yea, Elon Musk will do to help the world in ONE DAY than most of these haters will do in their entire lives. But it's OK, because he's one of the lucky billionaires who isn't paying their "fair share."
I get the feeling from their tone that many people in this thread want him to fail. Not just lludgiwg (who has a financial stake in that).
but think on it
Just finished Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance. The guy is a workhorse. The problem is he likes to do everything himself. He's one of those show off know-it-alls where he likes to correct people on everything.(He got bullied to death in his elementary and high school years because of this. Plus he was the awkward kid who was in the back of the classroom/kept to himself type). It's a personality trait of his that's a double edged sword. He doesn't like to give up control to other people because he thinks he can do better than them. Everytime he did give control of a company to somebody else. He got screwed over. He's a real brilliant guy but it can be both a blessing and a curse.Welp, even if the madness puts Musk on the deep end, he still has accomplished way more than most folks.
Reminds me of this good oldie of a tweet (that popped out of the blue in my mind)
This whole article is such a microcosm of much of society.
Dude is looking rough
Seems optimistic though
This only gives more support to the notion of being an a**hole to succeed, Steve Jobs was the same way.
I don't think it's a necessary trait but I'm not successful so I can't say.
With respect, your comment was ignorant as your links highlight.Maybe my choice of words is poor. What I call a subsidy is whenever a company gets money from a government, even if they deliver something (and SpaceX might create tremendous value).
I am not going to argue about this. I just thought he might be under pressure from the government (usually governments spend money recklessly so there should be no pressure)... It's just my personal opinion.
This guy lays it out pretty well.

And this one adds to this a bit.

Look at his actions. This is a guy with enough ego to believe he can start two multi-billion dollar companies at the same time;
