I know this group is mainly about hustling and doing things differently but I thought I'd think outside the box and see what you all think are just good jobs to have. Let's take a college background requirement away. Imo, most jobs don't really go anywhere and are kind of a dead end, but maybe there are some out there with great growth potential. An example would be, becoming a fashion designer or something that allows you to continue to create.

What do you intelligent people think are great fields to look into

I was thinking about something similar today. I think the best jobs as far as easiness and good money go is in the advice consulting work. Not working or creating something. These days it just seems like the value of creating 1 thing for 1 client is of low value.

The only breakthrough is when you can leverage something you can create that is unique and can be easily replicated.

But so much competition. And it's hard to have time to work on 100 products or art pieces hoping that one will take off. Helps if you have talent.

I know that doesn't really answer your question but if you can work for yourself or in something you love that's a win. Bonus of you can make fat stacks doing it.

If you think outside the box then maybe the question isn't what's a good job to go into, but how can you make whatever job you go into good for you? There's opportunity in any job. It's up to you to create value, find the opportunities, and act on them.

If your opinion is that most jobs are dead-end or don't go anywhere, then are you really thinking outside of the box? Or are you just saying what you think the forum wants to hear so we'll tell you what jobs will let you do the least work and pay you the most money?

Producers produce whether they're in a job or self-employed.

Any job where you connect people (middle-man) could be a good opportunity if you're looking for something entrepreneurial that still pays a salary. At least that's my guess.

Great comment. If you don't mind Lex, I'll expand on this.

I currently have 47 employees. I've had as many as 240 in the past.

Most employee's are task oriented. "I was hired to do A, B, & C...and that's all I will do"

That's fine if the tasks get done and you just want to be another cog in the wheel.

But do you want to pursue opportunity and learn as much as possible? Produce value beyond your "tasks"

Chances are your employer has 100's of needs. Anything from cost cutting, reducing inefficiencies, raising revenues, reducing turnover, improving service...whatever.

I had an employee recently that suggested a certain category we carry should be expanded on, displayed differently, and have a different pricing strategy. He saw an opportunity there that I had missed. We took his suggestions and ran with it, and the process he created improved sales by 10% + depending on location. Needless to say he is well paid. My highest paid employee in fact.

If you have to work a job, produce value for your customers and employer...there is no downside to having this mindset at all times.

I've had different kinds of jobs in very different industries, and I've come to the conclusion that there's opportunity to learn and add value everywhere. The real probably is that nobody bothers to look.

Example:
My current assistant processes orders from our website. The process is extremely inefficient, and I've made it better, but I don't have enough hours in the day to really go elbow deep in it. I've overtly told her that e-commerce will eventually be it's own business unit because it's growing so fast, and if she uses the free time she has in her day to master it, there's nobody in between her and "head of e-commerce". She has done nothing to improve the process. She's intelligent, capable, and one of the most diligent people in our building. She's made no progress because she's the kind of person that's always looking for someone else to tell her what to do, a la this question.

In 18 months, she'll still be my assistant, and someone else will be running e-commerce.

It's not because she's not smart enough, hard working enough, or has no opportunity. Think about that for a second.

True.
But then again, the Slowlane might hamper that form of meritocracy, as not all leaders or higher-ups are always looking out for talents and good solutions.
Politics, greed, injustice and prejudice are fiercely rampant in the Slowlane work sectors.

Just reminded me of the DANGERS OF THE SLOWLANE MJ spoke off in TMF .

At least in the Fastlane, we can choose whether or not we can play those 'danger games', because our reality is our reality.
In the Slowlane, I will still have to depend on someone else' s reality of a wealth game.

I'm not a big fan of jobs, but I suppose the best jobs would be the ones which offer experience and connections towards the Fastlane need I want solve.

For example, I'm now a student (not working yet!), but when I am working on my Fastlane, which is an Internet platform, my reading materials or networking would be focused on Internet tools, plugins, Adwords, sales pullers (ebooks and free reports), the list goes on.

Eventually I will get specialised as the problems go deeper.

Speaking of platforms....I have to go back to work soon and fix that code shit...:bawling::hurting::spititout:

So much for an MVP, Commandment of Entry....:walkingdead:
