Not a New Year's Resolution thread, but a mere proclamation of what you will accomplish in 2020.

List one thing, or many.

Whatever you resolve to do.

Please keep your proclamation measurable!

Lose weight is not measurable, lose 50 lbs is!
Start a business is not measurable, sell X units is!

This time next year, we will bump this thread and see how things went!

Also, if you posted in this thread AND have a progress thread, please include and link to it!!

Thank you!

For me, my 2020 objective is of a personal nature, so it isn't something I'm willing to disclose here.

In low spirits today so I'll keep it "real"...

1) Buy my first property. Become a Landlady.

2) Sell 100 units of the product I'm making, then use the proceeds to make my first donation.

3) Sell one painting.

These United States
1. I will grow the registered active user-base of my new travel related project to 20,000 by the end of 2020.

2. Close at least 24 new long term partnership agreements at my other Media Production startup.

3. Live in/visit at least 12 new countries in 2020 (I did 10 in 2019).

All the best to you all!

@MJ DeMarco I believe you meant to type 2020 here:

I am starting a new business after New Years Day. I must get the business license, the professional license, get a surety bond, get the insurance, set up the LLC, get the right to do credit checks, buy the software and set up the office in the space we have set aside. I learned Word Press last year, so I'll finish setting up our web site and email list. Yes, we have already moved the sister business to our new location so we're just about ready to rock and roll. We already have our first few sales and a couple of financing contracts. Why am I waiting? I don't want to pay the fees twice and file a 0 return for the LLC. Also, it's winter here in Alaska and it was 3 degrees this morning. Christmas is next week. If that sounds like an excuse, don't worry. I'm using the time well.
What am I doing? My partner has an auto/truck repair business. He is well known for his work here in our area. I know business and money and I am successful in my businesses. Our new location has a really wide frontage on a 4 lane highway coming into town from a neighboring town -- with a traffic count of about 12,000 cars per day. For our neck of the woods, that's a lot. So, I'm getting my dealer's license to sell used cars. Sounds really glamorous uh? Do you think that my doctorate in law, or my other 3 college degrees count in this new business? You bet ya! We're going to carry our own paper so it's all about contracts. MJ, in his books, says that 85% of vehicles on the road are financed. That's a wonderful wagon to jump on. The combination of my partner's knowledge about vehicles and my knowledge about financing and carrying paper will equal a wonderful cash flow. And, my partner will be the guy on-site to be the face of the business. I'll be the money bags and the brains behind the scene. (Also, his mother is my BFF and one of my tenants. We're kind-of shirt-tail relatives)
No, it's not scalable in the traditional sense. BUT, it will have a passive cash flow stream for years to come and we'll collect interest on our profit from the vehicles as well as my investment monies.
No, it not sexy. It's not something to write home to Mother about. But, it's already starting to work.
The last car sales company that rented that highway space sold 123 cars per year on average. And they had terrible vehicles. With my partner choosing and fixing the vehicles -- and me putting up the money to purchase the ones for sale and then financing them, we should best the last guy's numbers pretty quickly. We've already sold some cars and trucks that we parked out front, and we're not even set up yet.
I'll make paying the payments as easy on our customers as possible. I have an auto draw account for my residential rentals. I'll set up one for the cars. And I'll set up PayPal on our web site so they can make payments online. I'll do the auto draw on the 1st and 15th of each month. Our customers who use the auto draw will be able to choose which date of the month that works best for them.
I'm really excited. I love to collect payments. To me, that's the ultimate in sexy businesses. I already buy real estate trust deeds, so I have over 40 years of experience in that type of business.
What if this new business doesn't work? I can sum that up in one word. NEXT!

In 2020 by the end of April, I will graduate from the bachelor's in business management program, getting a new job in the banking industry to build upon a year of my existant account management experience. The goal is to build up a cushion underneath my bum in case I fall in the venture. The education alongside experience in my industry already puts me ahead of my classmates however it is also a nice backup plan to earn money while analyzing mistakes and gathering resources for the next venture.

Best to everyone on their journey,

Glenn

Hey everyone, here is a link to my progress thread:

Regarding my goals for 2020:

- I will have an extremely straight back and healthy attractive posture (currently struggling with lowerback/kneck issues from sitting so long).

- I will have a 6 pack and awesome gym body

- I will have an online business that pays me atleast 10k Euros in net profit per month

- I will have control over my time & emotions spent online (by that I mean digital freedom from addictive social media apps like instagram, facebook and checking coinmarketcap 20 times per day)

- I will have a clear overview over my finances & investments, I will not loose control over my wealth.

- I will be in an amazing and loving relationship with a new girlfriend (broke up with my ex around 5-6 months ago and still very hurt from this relationship)

- I will be able to sing and play the following songs on guitar at a good enough level to make it look "cool": Drive by incubus, you need me i dont need you ed sheeran, dont ed sheeran, oasis wonderwall, the script over my head, breaking the habit by linkin park and swing life away by rise against

- I will have grown my hair long for atleast 9 months and styled it in a fking awesome haircut style (similar to leonardo dicaprio haha!)

- I will have donated over 1k Euro for projects that help conserve the environment

Last year's post: EXECUTION - What will you accomplish in 2019?

Fell short of the 500/month goal, but (at the time of posting) have ended the year with 425 total orders. Granted, a lot of those orders are for free products, but I've switched to a new delivery system so the next year will be a more accurate representation of actual product/service delivered.

This year I'll grow to 50k users per week. I know what it looks like having 500, 1k, and 2k users per week, 20k will be a game-changer. 50k will be a life-changer. It's also something I feel like I have a bit more control over as far as my efforts go.

EDIT: calculating it out, I would need to grow my users by 6.4% week over week.

Health
1). Stuff 0 wads of tobacco in my mouth in 2020
2). Bench press 225x5, Squat 285x5 by 2020

Wealth
3). Launch a product-based business and generate $100k in revenue by 2020

Lifestyle/Hobbies
4). Write, produce and record a full-length hip-hop album/mixtape by 2020
5). Move to a new city with a lower COL and warmer weather

I'll keep my relationship and spiritual goals to myself as they are more personal.

Edit 12/16/19: I'm scrapping the niche site goal and thinking bigger. Instead of $20k revenue in a product-based business I'm going for $100k and making that my only Wealth goal, and my #1 focus.

This is the year, which will define my the rest of my life.

2020 Themes
  • I will not allow myself to be another cog, but I will produce the F*cking machine and have cogs making me money
  • MAN THE F*ck UP AND GET SHIT DONE
  • Stop planning, talking, and analyzing, start executing, failing, learning, and succeeding
  • Average is not an option.
I’ve come close to taking the leap, investing in my ideas, doing what I want to do, being confident that shit will go sideways but being confident I can survive it, and believing that I am meant to do more than working the corporate life rat race.

All in all- in 2020 I will offset my current income by investing in two international vacation rentals and developing a SaaS platform that I’ve conjured up this year. This will allow me to man the F*ck up and listen to that little voice I’ve neglected for way to F*cking long. These are my 11 steps, which will get me there; starting with...
  1. Buy my first vacation property in Ambergris Caye by the end of March; generating minimally $1,000 monthly profit
  2. Pay off all Consumer debt (credit cards/ personal loans) by the end of March; reducing $750 reoccurring [monthly] costs
  3. File for stateside biz license by the end of April
  4. Sell house by the end of June, freeing up $90,000 in post-tax capital; rolling over $35,000 to 2nd property down payment.
  5. Buy 2nd vacation property in Ambergris Caye by the end of July (27th birthday present to myself); generating minimally $1,000 monthly profit
  6. Acquire and revamp, or develop SaaS platform by the end of September
  7. Generate first $1 in sales, by the developed SaaS, NLT end of October
  8. Sell off half of awarded vest stocks at the end of November freeing up $60,000.
  9. Scale SaaS gross revenue to $2500 by the end of December; achieving ~$2000 net profit.
  10. Obtain business Belize biz license, for 2nd company, kicking off step 11
  11. With the extra passive income (~$4,000), reduced monthly costs ($2,000), and nest egg money ($120,000)- put in 2 weeks notice last week of December and take my son on a vacation to Belize to go Snorkeling, eat lobster burritos at the local breakfast shack, read UNSCRIPTED at Secret Beach with a Jack and Coke in my hand, and reflect on how epic 2020 was....

For 2020, I wish to accomplish:

1. Marry my fiance: After 4 years, it is about time. :) Q2
2. Invest at least 25% of my income. Q4
3. Finish my certified project leader course: This is my second pillar to enable me to 1. get a job that is not linked to my technical expertise if automotive might get worse, 2. improves my working skills at my recent employer, 3. teaches me to reach goals on FL. Q2
4. Enhance my blog → rework design (Q3), connect with at least 2 other blogs (Q4), one entry per month (Q4)
5. Brainstorm suitable book topics for me, I like writing but this year I wont have time :) (Q3)
6. Make at least two advertising actions with my book to boost sells (Q1 + Q2)

Optional:

Opt1. Audiobook from my already published book if possible in Germany - there is some formally trouble with residentship within Germany and Audible. Geez, I would so like to do that, but see no posssibilty right now

Get married!!! woohoo! We've been dating for 8 years, and there were reasons, but finally, we're getting married in the spring!

In other realms:
- learn programming to expand skills
- take on enough clients as an independent sales rep in my industry that I don't need a standard j-o-b
- save up $2000 to test the industry marketplace idea
- visit my Dad
- write little books to sell on Amazon
- create SAR obstacle course training
- start the hill garden (3 year project)

Hi guys,

Well let's do this exercise for the first time for me.

1. Next year we will launch 4 MVP with a business partner (as side projects, both of us have full-time jobs).
2. I want USD 15000 MRR at least for one of them.
3. Selling InfoProducts as a personal side project: USD 1000 MRR.
4. Lose weight and reach my ideal of 80 kg (175 lb)
5. Quit my full-time job.

I know those are ambitious goals for my lifestyle now (I am married and have one kid) but I will modify my daily routine in order to achieve that.

1. Earn around 3,000 USD / month from my app business. (Ads + IAP (preferably subscriptions) revenue)
2. Move out and rent an apartment (Only if it makes sense.) Be self-sustaining.

I don't want to list too many as most of them will just turn into a New Year's resolutions instead of actual accomplishments.

If I can accomplish more then that's great. But I want to only focus on the 20% that will have the most impact on my life.

Special Goal *Have enough money to attend the Summit in 2021.*
