A recent change I’ve made(a form fill side bar) has increased my leads and sales...

The thing is my bounce rate is also higher...

Is this just a matter of converting more traffic into buyers? How concerned should I be if sales are increased 28% and bounce rate is up 10%?

(This is a lead gen site for my local service business. Traffic is from referrals, SEO and PPC)

It depends, more context would be needed.

E.g.if this form you've added can be filled and submitted without leaving the page, then this could result in your bounce rate increasing with increased number of leads.

Or if you have a phone number on your website, a prospect may call it without ever clicking to another page on your website.

You can get perfectly good leads, which also count as bounces, because only one page was visited.

So, bounce rate is not always relevant. In the context of local service business, you can easily have a page that works very well and has a high bounce rate too. E.g.prospects call/message/book an appointment on an entry page, and then "bounce" off of it.

On the other hand, if someone ran an e-commerce store that's setup so that multiple pages need to be visited before there's a purchase, then bounce rate would become relevant, because whoever "bounced" - didn't purchase.

Btw.congrats on increasing your sales:)

What is your favorite metric for tracking if your site is user friendly?

Customer feedback, sales, etc?

@FastNAwesome
Yes it is a small sidebar with a click to call button and a form fill that is sticky.

it makes it so they don’t have to look for it.
