Here are my maxes:

430 lb squat

165 lb overhead press

I was detrained for a month before hitting these numbers due to lockdown since mid-October.

What are your stats?

So girl weightlifting junkie here...so I don't compare to any of your numbers, but am still proud of my strength gains :)

deadlift: 275 lbs
Squat: 225lbs
Bench: 115lbs
OHP: 85lbs

and the one I’ll probably only be talking about:
Barbell Hip thrust: 425 lbs

Bodyweight : 147 lbs (67 kg)

Bench press: 164 lbs (70 kg)
Shoulder press: 114 lbs (52 kg)

Btw, if anyone has any tips on how to get the dumbbells into position on a decline bench (https://www.cyberfit.com.au/pub/media/catalog/product/d/e/decline-bench-standalone-1200.png) in order to do dumbbell decline bench press, let me know.
Not sure how to get heavy dumbbells into this position safely and how to get off it without throwing the dumbbells down.

and the one I’ll probably only be talking about:
Barbell Hip thrust: 425 lbs

I hope you're trolling......

I started following strong women lifters on Instagram who hip thrusted up to 700lbs like 1.5 years ago and got super inspired to continue to push my PRs.

it’s not that hard to lift heavy on just got to stick at it for a whole

But how do you get the barbell onto the hips to do the hip thrust? Do you have a spotter to put it on?

27 000lbs bench press = 500 push ups x 54lbs (33% of my bodyweight)

16 000lbs deadlift = 100 towel pull ups x 160 lbs (100% of my bodyweight)

3360lbs squat = approx. 20 sit-downs in front of the computer per day plus 1 toilet squat in the morning

I look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club 95% of the time and turn into Tom Hardy as Bane during my workout.

That's awesome! I'm a little under 200 pounds for this. What do you do for protection with the barbell against your pelvis? This is what is holding me back from going heavier.

Way to go @knazzaro710 and @becks22 !! And all the guys that are crushing it here as well!

Haven't had a proper consistent gym workout in so long that I have no idea... this is a great boost of motivation to find out! (the town I live in is now building a gym with hopes to be open this spring).. yeaaaa!

Had a great chat with a friend the other day about how much more we tend to push ourselves around others - whether it's a trainer, workout partner, just being around gym mates that it's on the excuse list for why we're aren't seeing some of the gains we could be. Not pushing myself hard enough in the home solo workouts is hands down a weakness. Haven't gained weight back since the start of last year and 75Hard so now 105lbs/48kg, though goals for muscle and bf % are still being executed. Not achieving them by now is on me. It's well beyond time!

barbell pads that are usually used for squats! you can find a cheap one-off amazon :)

But how do you get the barbell onto the hips to do the hip thrust? Do you have a spotter to put it on?

what I usually do is I set up a plyo box or bench to do the exercise on that is high enough for me to get under, but low enough that I can properly perform the exercise (the height of the box/bench is key to being able to lift heavier). The perfect height is usually about up to your lower back, where your elbows are comfortably rested on the bench. If the bench is too high you're right, i's near impossible to get the barbell off the ground to perform the exercise. Then I use a barbell pad like I mention to protect my pelvis

hmm the one I use works pretty well and doesn't bother me that much. maybe try using a lower bench like I mentioned. When I started using something lower I was quickly able to lit a lot more! Follow @bretcontreras1 on instagram for tips (he's pretty much the guy that popularized the exercise)

It's easy to fit your legs under then when they have 45 lb plates on them - and I'm 215 lbs with huge legs.

When my gym was open and I was doing barbell thrusts (now my gym bought a dedicated hip thrust machine) I had the same issue, it was so uncomfortable to put all that weight on my pelvis area.

For more comfort I would use a foam neck pad that you'd typically use for squats then I would take one of those 1 inch thick foam mats that are around the same size as a yoga mats but much thicker & fold it in 2 and put that between me and the bar aswell.

All in all I had 3 layers of foam cushion.

So for those of you who have done hip thrusts, does it actually increase the size of your butt from the side view, or just makes the glutes firmer? Because if I'm doing that, then that's the no. 1 thing I want to see lol (e.g: results-oriented).

I've been doing them since when I was 16 or something. Had girls (I knew) in high school constantly touch my a$$ (double standards?).

Do hip thrusts twice a week and after a year a girl's a$$ won't seem as exciting. You'll most likely stare at yours every day, even if you are not Patrick Bateman.

People say "squat every day for glutes" but that's BS. And that BS is promoted by people who don't even lift. Squats only build your glutes if you go below parallel, and even at that point they don't engage glutes as much as hip thrusts.

Hip thrust = ruler of glute exercises... nothing else compares

Back before I stopped barbell training and did more cardio:

Squat = 335
Bench press = 265
Military press = 150
Deadlift = 315

This was at a bodyweight of right around 200. I'm 5'8''.

Yeah I'm one of those rare types where my squat is better than my deadlift. It's probably because I bowl and play golf. The super tight grips that is necessary for deadlifting doesn't translate to bowling and golf too well.

Until July or so I'm just gonna do cardio only with some weight training thrown in. Need to lose weight first before doing heavy lifting.

I just had my first experience with hip thrusts as a serious part of one of my routines (195 lbs 7 sets of 8 in 6 minutes). They f*cking hurt.

The next time you see someone with a great @$$, make sure to thank them for the sacrifice that they put in to make the world a better place, because that sh1t sucks.
