Fastlane Forum,
This is part developing my elevator pitch and part defining my niche(s).
This isn’t the full sales-y spiel. I’ve got many drafts for that and don’t want that to be the focus right now because I first need to get clear on who can benefit most from what I offer. I know that literally every human being can benefit from what I teach, but that’s a bit too broad.
The best way to deliver my content is through videos/online course format. One on one coaching isn’t really viable nor is it preferable. All the benefits of individual coaching can be included in online course via FB groups/private messages to me (in the beginning I want to be very accessible).
So here’s the content.
I help people help themselves by educating them on largely obscured, forgotten, or misunderstood universally applicable principles of human nature.
These range from topics like the true model of personality, discovering your true talents and purpose in life, how to learn, communicate, and understand anything, how to increase IQ permanently (and verifiably), the real underlying secrets to body transformation (exercises, diet, and nutrition – geared toward getting regular folks of any age or size into great shape, not for athletes wanting competitive edge), and also piecing together all the fundamentals of securing a winning mindset.
There are some more content highlights than just that. One such highlight everyone here is already familiar with. I include a brief financial module that teaches MJ’s CENTS (I memorized it in the original order, you “CENTS” anagrammatical hucksters!). This is a good conceptual comparison to my other modules as far as how powerful the content is as well as how broadly applicable it is. I consider MJ’s two books powerful enough to be the only two business books you ever really need to understand, with Millionaire Fastlane alone being powerful enough to do 80%+.
My course does provide specific formulas and methods (like CENTS) that you can apply to clearly identify various aspects of life/situations/etc. However, my course does not teach you specific execution strategies, i.e. I do not include how you can build your own productocracy step-by-step. So while I teach you how to learn anything, I do not tell you what to learn. While I tell you how relationships work, I do not tell you who to have a relationship with nor do I tell you how to fix, improve, or terminate existing relationships (although you will be fully equipped to execute on any option you desire to execute).
I don’t wish to color this group’s first impressions of my content which might bias or stifle suggestions for niches to start out targeting. I can post down below my short list of niches to start approaching, but I really desire to know this sample’s ideas, not hear more of my own.
I can also flesh out more details about my content if you guys ask for some more specifics to help with feedback. I know it's squishy. The one thing I won't spend time on is "yeah, but does your content work?" It does.
I know my material is ridiculously powerful. My personal story could identify me so I’ll keep it vague, but basically these methods were discovered out of necessity. My best-case life scenario I was facing was working part-time for the rest of my life just to be socially acceptable by my family while they subsidized my (poverty) lifestyle until I died. This was after I had a Hall of Fame overachiever high school career that earned me full rides. Somehow everyone else thought it was perfectly acceptable to throw my talent in the trash like that. I even believed it for years. Well, most of me did. The part of me that was still me defied family, friends, authority, etc. and said “F*ck it” until I found and applied the actual things to get my life back under my control. Life isn’t perfect yet, but I no longer wake up thinking that part-time for 40 years is my only option besides suicide. Now, I think my absolute worst-case scenario is somehow I lose “everything” and starting from scratch just means running out and getting some full-time salaried or sales job (either of which is infinitely more prestigious than a part-time Walmart greeter or whatever).
I share that personal aside to give a reason why I include so many different seemingly unrelated modules in my course (i.e. fitness/health as well as mental development). It’s because these are the core, most powerful methods that actually got my life back on track. Any one of these individual methods was revolutionary at the time I discovered and tested it for the first time. I could easily parcel these modules into self-contained courses and sell all of them individually for the same price as the complete course. But life still wasn’t back on track until I added all of these essential components together. Lots of lip service is paid to “treating the whole person/holistic attention” but I intend to address that from day one if for no other reason than we have to in order to function as humans.
I have a very solid proof of concept and am looking to get market feedback and sell a few courses/memberships to further establish that proof of concept and refine it to my audience’s needs before I scale.
Thanks everybody.
P.S. I would plan on doing JV’s/affiliate programs or otherwise work out agreements with people like MJ whose material I mention in my course as appropriate. I focus more on my discussion, teaching, and interpretation of the content which is the value I add. (I also bring value by being the only person who knows of and has tested/confirmed all of these methods and put them in the same place together.) I’m not concerned with this right now though since first things first – I need to refine my message, identify initial target markets, approach markets, refine offer, invite first members, build first edition of course (at which time I would probably contact original sources as needed), launch first edition, iterate improvements from founding members’ feedback, etc.
