I'm looking to start my website and looking for a good webhost... It's so hard to google because everyone's affiliated lol.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a bunch!

Hi there. I'm new to the forum but have some experience with hosting.

If it's a smaller site with light traffic I recommend checking out A2 Hosting, or Siteground. I used A2 in the past and they were great on every front. I'm currently using Siteground for a number of projects and I would say they are just as good as A2, maybe a little better.

On larger projects I'm using Digital Ocean VPS. It's a little more advance, but a great value if you don't mind doing more of the server work yourself.

Hope it helps.

Hostgator and bluehost are both EIG and their services are one of the worst in the industry.
Neither A2 nor Siteground have data centers in Canada and their services are ok at best.

In case anyone is interested in such topic: go to webhostingtalk and read everything you find.
This website is dedicated to this very subject, with a lot of industry leading specialists on board.

Hey, thanks for the tip...was planning to use site5 again as I was using it 2 years ago with good service but it seems I'm going to go with other hosting sites after reading about EIG. :)
