I heard this a couple of months ago from some Commodity Broker on the radio.

It makes sense.

Only 1% of all water is fit for human requirement - whether directly or indirectly, eg crops

If you want to know where future wars will be look at where you have growing populations and limited access to fresh water.

In fact Egypt and Ethiopia are in a current ding dong about the massive Great Renaissance Dam Ethiopia have built and now need to fill up. If they do it too quickly (6 years) Egypt loses 90% of their water supply and if they take longer(10 years plus) Ethiopia stay poorer for longer.
