Diane,

Anytime someone clicks "Good post?", your points increase. The points translate into higher speeds shown in your "Reputation Speed" avatar.

Think of the points as "pressure" on your vehicle accelerator. More points are required to go faster. I think the next speed level is set at 500 points (40 mph) :fastlane:

As your rep increases, however, so does your power to add to other's rep and vice versa.

I currently have the repeat Reputation settings at 5 ... you must rep 4 other people before repping the same person again. Some have expressed a desire to have this changed to a smaller level -- so I dropped it back to 3.
