Found this thread very informative on Reddit, this guy built a startup from scratch and recorded it / live broadcast it with Twitch. This means you can watch the entire process from start to 100K users, as we all know it is process that matters, not necessarily the outcome at first.
Building a startup in public: from first line of code to frontpage of Reddit

Well worth a look.

Very fun - I like this idea!

I could see using Twitch as a great way to market one's services.

In my case - AdWords. If you want people to advertise with you, why not simply show them how to build a successful campaign so they realize how tasking it all is and hire you to do it for them!

This could kill yelp. I like it.
If it ever evolves from a side project, absolutely.

That said, it needs a little maturity. (If you visit the Dallas area, you'll see giant "F*ck DALLAS" and "HOUSTON > DALLAS" comments all over.)

Also, possibly adding a color for higher crime rate areas as well.

The concept definitely has a lot of potential, but as always, it's all down to execution.
