Hi,
I am writing this after my biz, Chucklepost, did not make a single sale. I live in a small city in India. My parents don't support me in this journey, and my life is pretty f*cked up.
This post will go over the mistakes I have made, which will help you analyze my situation and give me some help.
I launched Chucklepost after seeing first-hand how difficult it was for new founders—including myself—to gain views with marketing. At the time, I was working on Spiralsaas (a starter kit designed to simplify life for Appwrite developers) and noticed many entrepreneurs promoting their projects on Reddit, yet only a handful ever went viral. I started observing their approach—identifying key tactics like strategic keyword placement in titles and post bodies—and used those insights to build an app that helps generate viral content for Reddit
After launching it, I had around 26k views and around 36 users. But after trying it once, nobody came back again.
My primary marketing channels were Twitter (X.com) and Reddit.
@heavyindustry said that you need above-average intelligence to be a successful entrepreneur, but I think I have below-average intelligence. I’m not saying this to gain sympathy, but 2 years ago, I started a web design business and clearly realized that I don’t speak proper English and can’t sell to clients in the US and UK. But despite this, I kept trying like a fool for 6 months. In between all that, I tried door-to-door selling, but the clients would ask, “Whom have you worked with before?” One of them called me every other day and said, “Yes, I would buy your service,” but didn’t, so I stopped meeting him.
From my second biz, Spiralsaas, I made 2 sales, but I have now realised that it had much potential, but my half-a$$ couldn't see it.
My life is shit not because of my failures, but because of my environment. My parents see me as a loser and compare me to my cousins, who graduated from prestigious colleges and are doing well in life. Somewhere, I think they’re right; I should have prepared for competitive exams instead of trying out entrepreneurship
This is all I want to say.
