Would love to hear from entrepreneurs that have successfully reached the Fastlane about the haters, doubters, and negative people in their early years vs how you are treated now.
  • This is for the edification of the forum from an emotional intelligence standpoint.
  • I find the constructive and positive reinforcement better than the “hater complaint” threads.
  • It helps to hear from people that are in the Emperor or Empress stage of their entrepreneurial careers.
  • It hurts the most when your haters and doubters are family and friends
  1. What is your hater story?
  2. What would you tell your younger self about these haters?
  3. Have you seen these haters later on in life after you’ve crossed over to the Fastlane?
  4. How did they react?
  5. Did they ask you for advice, money, or apologize?

I will start with mine, even though I did not make it yet.

My extended family and friends basically discourage me by putting my ambitions down. I had to cut a lot of them out of my life. Someone with more experience, please tell me your story and how it worked out?
  • "That won't work"
  • "Just get your Masters and get married already, what's wrong with you?"
  • They will list all of the challenges and never suggest any solutions
  • "You think your Mark Zuckerberg? He actually got into Harvard"
I am looking forward to silencing them with my success as icing on the cake. Though I could really care less what they think at this point.

My goals are to do the following
  • Hit it out of the park with my business
  • Take my parents on an overseas vacation since I never took one as a kid
  • Buy a nice lake house
  • Breed puppies

U.K.
I either don't experience haters, or they simply don't show up on my radar. I'm not sure which it is, and frankly I don't care.

"I proved the haters wrong" stories are cool

But

"I proved myself right" is even cooler.
